I saw some of the game last night and have got to say Ineista caught my eye. Good passer of the ball, good movement and a good shot on him. He maybe a surprise dangerman.

Danger man Samuel Eto’o looks like missing Barcelona’s Champions League tie with Liverpool after an extraordinary fall-out with coach Frank Rijkaard.
The free-scoring Cameroon striker trained on his own in Barcelona’s gym yesterday after flouting Rijkaard’s authority by refusing to appear as a substitute in the closing minutes of Sunday’s home win over Racing Santander.
In a public show of dissent that hasturnedmostof histeam-mates against him,Eto’oreturnedto the bench and ignored instructions to go on after spending several minutes warming up.
A bemused Rijkaard is awaiting an explanation from Eto’o, who hasjustregainedfitness after four months out with a knee injury, but seems likely to exclude him from the starting line-up against Valencia in La Liga on Sunday and Liverpool in next week’s last-16 tie.
Rijkaard said: "Eto’o warmed up but afterwards told my assistant he did not want to come on. It’s a shame, but I haven’t been able to speak to him to find out why."
Eto’o at least appears to have an ally in president Joan Laporta, who said: "Samuel has suffered for four months and needs to be playing and scoring goals. We have to reach out to him and give him some support. Rijkaard is an expert in these situations."
Liverpool made a shaky start to their five-day training stint in the Algarve yesterday when a mid-morning earthquake sent tremors through the region.
The club will also be expected to play promotional friendlies in Japan and China now they have been taken over by U.S. sports moguls Tom Hicks and George Gillett.
Chief executive Rick Parry has flown to the United States for talks about the club’s future with their new owners, and he is likely to be told the "brand" needs to be promoted more in the Far East.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

To defeat Barca...
...we need to stop two of their key players IMO. Ronaldinho and Xavi.
But to do that, we need players who will actually stop them, not chase their shadows. I firmly believe that Rafa will set up a squad of players that already played against those two, which is understandable, but who?
Xabi Alonso will play in both games, I'm sure about that. And he will be a key player for us and I hope he will deliever some of his killer passes to unlock Barca's defence. Then we have Momo, who will chase every ball for 90 minutes, but he needs to get some practice under his belt, because he was woeful against Barcodes last weekend. Steven Gerrard can play in every position for us, but I hope he will actually do something (in last few matches, he was fcuking invisible).
We need to set up a strong midfield and of course a strong defence. I believe Steve Finnan could cope with Ronaldinho, but he will need backup just in case. I've read on .tv that Alavaro Arbeloa kept the footballer with the biggest teeth measured in history in his pocket, when Deportivo drew with Barca.
Then we have Mark Gonzalez and I hope he plays! If Rafa puts Zenden in, I wont even watch the match, because to me Zenden is... Well... I Don't know enough curse words to describe him. Fabio Aurelio could also get a nod and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets picked over Riise, because Riise has been really poor lately.Arbeloa kept the Brazilian playmaker quiet earlier this season when Deportivo drew with Barcelona.
"I was happy with most of my performances for Depor this season but that one against Barcelona stands out because I was up against Ronaldinho directly, and he is one of the best players in the world," the Spaniard told LFC Magazine.
"We drew 1-1 and I did well but I was helped by the rest of my teammates. They helped me double up on him when I needed assistance and we fought well all over the pitch so they didn't get a lot of time on the ball.
"You are nothing in football as an individual; you need the team to get good results."
Arbeloa believes Barca have weaknesses that Liverpool are more than capable of exploiting.
"It is true that they are not playing at their best this season and they have been dropping points to teams that people expect them to beat. We should be confident going into those games because we are not inferior to them.
"There will be areas we can exploit over there and the fact that the home leg is second also gives us a small advantage.
"It means that Barca will have to take the game to Liverpool and from what I have seen of this team they like to play the game this way."
Our defence should keep strikers quiet (whoever plays in attack for Barca). Carragher should be the boss there and I believe our defence will play the offside trap for 90 minutes and won't let anything surprise them.
So all in all, we will probably start with those players who played in La Liga and have experience of playing there. My prediction for the lineup is:
Reina; Finnan, Carragher, Hyypiä, Aurelio; Gerrard, Sissoko, Alonso, Gonzalez; Kuyt, Bellamy.
I totally forgot what I was trying to say in this thread, so I'll end it for now, but will probably add more later.
PS: And boy, we will miss Luis Garcia!!!Last edited by cobain; 13-02-07, 11:49 AM.Torres Fan Club Member #2, Lucas Leiva Fan Club Member #1

i would also include deco in that aswel him and xavi can really dictate the pace they are outstanding players of brilliant technical ability and they keep possession very well. i would start getting worried if we start to see barca knocking the ball around for extended periods because all it needs is for someone then to produce a moment of brilliance to hurt us. we should play them at their own game and keep the ball because they are shaky defensivley! i will be gutted if zenden sets foot onto the pitch next week he is shocking!I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.
