i was thinking zebina on loan from juve or perhaps with the CL qualification money we may use up our jan transfer budget and go get alves

Apparently we are also watching Philipp Degen of Dortmund….he would cost probably €5Mill

I'm sure Diao played at right back for one or two games, ready made utility man with PL experience.

I would be happy if he went right back to where he came from, tbh...

Ohh i remember that, worst right back performance ever for us, totally went missing into midfield
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

does anyone think we could still do with a Didi 'replacement'? it's nearly impossible to replace someone as experienced as Didi, but the fact is he did start in 23 games (including 13 prem games) and made appearences in a further 9 last year and if we have one or two injuries or suspensions in midfield we could potentially be fooked

When he played at centre back away to Valencia was THE worst ever.

Aimar running at Salif Diao. Fcuk me, the flashbacks.

Kuyt has served his apprenticeship in Holland and the Feyenoord man is looking to secure a move to The Premiership.

Liverpool are Newcastle are battling for his services and van Basten feels he will flourish in England.

"He is a good football player," noted van Basten. "He has a good mentality and a good technique.

"He would be very useful for a team, as he makes goals."

I don't think Zenden does too badly in the centre of midfield - him and Sissoko bit pretty well last Sunday.

I'd be happy with our four central midfielders for the coming season - unless Rafa sniffs out another quick-fire Sissoko-like signing!

By "sniffs out" do you mean realised that one of his former players was up for sale and was 24 hours away from signing for a club situated less than a mile away?

                            Like a Bloodhound, isn't he?

we dont need a replacement for didi, we are more than well stocked in the centre of midfield.

didi left because he was told he wouldnt be getting much of a run this season.

we have stevie, momo, xabi, zenden and garcia who can play in the middle

probably the best midfield squad in europe
