Ohh i remember that, worst right back performance ever for us, totally went missing into midfieldOriginally posted by AltheRedI'm sure Diao played at right back for one or two games, ready made utility man with PL experience.

Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

does anyone think we could still do with a Didi 'replacement'? it's nearly impossible to replace someone as experienced as Didi, but the fact is he did start in 23 games (including 13 prem games) and made appearences in a further 9 last year and if we have one or two injuries or suspensions in midfield we could potentially be fooked

Kuyt has served his apprenticeship in Holland and the Feyenoord man is looking to secure a move to The Premiership.
Liverpool are Newcastle are battling for his services and van Basten feels he will flourish in England.
"He is a good football player," noted van Basten. "He has a good mentality and a good technique.
"He would be very useful for a team, as he makes goals."

I don't think Zenden does too badly in the centre of midfield - him and Sissoko bit pretty well last Sunday.Originally posted by rebel23does anyone think we could still do with a Didi 'replacement'? it's nearly impossible to replace someone as experienced as Didi, but the fact is he did start in 23 games (including 13 prem games) and made appearences in a further 9 last year and if we have one or two injuries or suspensions in midfield we could potentially be fooked
I'd be happy with our four central midfielders for the coming season - unless Rafa sniffs out another quick-fire Sissoko-like signing!

By "sniffs out" do you mean realised that one of his former players was up for sale and was 24 hours away from signing for a club situated less than a mile away?Originally posted by CacodemonI don't think Zenden does too badly in the centre of midfield - him and Sissoko bit pretty well last Sunday.
