If this is true then Tom Hicks wasn't fibbing last week when he said it was 'the team to our east' (United) 'we have our eyes on'.To Hick's mind and the other yanks Utd's 76,000 OT is something we should challenge them on - not the meek 61,000 in comparison. Maybe they've in mind a 77,000 seater with a future option to increase to 100,000+ (If the mancs expand too - challenge them all the way) - Problem then is how do we fill it bearing in mind the population 20 miles around OT is much bigger than 20 miles around Anfield (We've got the sea to one side of us you see) - I know how to fill it - £10 Adults/£5 U16's-OAP's.

The more the better 70,000 capacity would be great we would fill it out every week.

The Infastructure can barely cope now, and unless H&G can say were they are going to find a carpark big enough for 35000 cars then they can **** right off about increasing it by more than 9000.

I want Liverpool to stay in Anfield don't get me wrong but an increase of 25000 fans just can't be sustained in the Anfield area unless they find a vast area of land that can accomodate the extra vehicles.

As far as the train line goes last I heard it would cost over £100 million to have the line set up and trains to be available to run on it. Who would be paying for that.

They are talking about getting the Tram Line from town to run past Anfield. Reviving that **** again are we, well the last time it was mentioned about 12 to 18 months ago the figure to install Line One was £219 million, the council couldn't even raise the £172 million needed the to activate the funding from Whitehall. I know that the council was screwed by the government and I know the unofficial (ie true) reasons for the collapse was the London Olympic bid. But money is going to be siphoned off to London for the next 9 years the same reasons from a year ago will still be applicable when they try to sort out the public transportation issue for the groundeither train or tram.

Sorry for going off on one but I live not 5 mins away from the ground and it's bad now, we can't go out in the car match days because we don't get back in and the traffic wardens are a joke they either get people with permits or the people who park without a permit don't give **** about the tickets.

So in closing either tell us were you will house the extra traffic George or **** Off.
You have every right to moan about traffic etc and it is a pain but i live in a road between Hornsey/Clapham roads (Just off Priory) therefore even nearer to our new stadium than you - and would be made up if we could increase capacity. Opinions, opinions , opinions - it's what makes the world go round eh.

so we should not want what is best for LFC because of traffic?.
I sympathise with your situation, but i dont think you have that much to be worried about. unless you mind LFC possibly leaving the area altogether which is possible when you consider what you have been saying about the cost of redeveloping infrastructure.

I think that option got dismissed because it would have a crippling affect on the local economy

well the local resident seems to be more concern about the traffic and since the area is too small for the club, maybe its time to consider elsewhere.

Maybe we will dig the pitch deeper down into the ground. That would give us the space we need for the extra seats.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Underground parking even? Is that feasible given the site?

Heres a quote from another site that is probably a good reply to your post

present planning permission is predicated on a finite number of seats for reasons of safety, access and transport issues. Although this number can be tweaked upwards and seemingly has been already by negotiation on the use and layout of internal space within the forementioned limitations, a leap of 9000 is significant and would certainly invalidate current planning permissions.

We wanted underground parking and even sought a grant for this which was declined.

Not sure whether we will have underground parking or not as there has been recent talk of executive suites below pitch level

any more delays to the new ground will mean the new owners having to cough up cash to fund our transfers = bigger debt.
