That sounds really completely and utterly cheesy and I cringed when I saw it. Fair play for the effort though, but I would rather have seen something else than that.
I do not see how that is 'Cheesy'. We have always stood behind Liverpool in their fight for the JFT96 and we also share a common anthem. Maybe you just don't like the cliché but the sentiment is heartfelt. Do you realise how much effort and time was put into making all this happen? Not to mention the money. How much did you pay towards highlighting the campaign?

'Vomit inducing'?....Jesus Christ mate take a look at yourself. How many other clubs in England fight your corner? At least we Jocks/Paddy's feel empathy with the whole human aspect of what happened that day.

Don`t Worry BHOY,thankfully Monkeywool doesn`t speak for a vast majority of Liverpool fans who see nothing "Cheesy" in any of your support or our response.

A majority of fans are very grateful for your help in Highlighting the "Justice for the 96" Campaign.

Long may the friendship between our two great clubs continue.

        Hail,Hail.............

Football gets a very bad press but events like this contradict the commonly held view that all football fans are rabid hate-filled antagonists hell bent on a path of animosity towards anyone but their own team.

Allthe best in the CL guys. You will have one Bhoy up here in Jockland cheering for you anyway.
Once again, thanks, words seem feeble & not enough for what has been achieved by your fans efforts, but I do add my humble appreciation and deep felt thanks all the same.

And all the best in your pursuit of the double, and how many have been won over by Gordon S then, and seeing his first half dozen games in charge the vocal element of wanting him out has all gone quiet! He's done well, so much so, it's now Martin who??

Bollocks. At the replay of the semi-final in '89 an almost identical banner was lifted in the Liverpool end that read "The Kop thanks you all - we never walked alone", while red and white tape was passed all the way around the ground. It was an incredibly touching moment of solidarity between fans, and I remember being in tears at the time. My memory may be going, but I'm sure it was taken to away games at the time as well.

It was perfectly fitting to hold up a similar banner in thanks to the Celtic fans. The only cringeworthy thing is that an ignorant ******* like you can't appreciate it and feels the need to denigrate it on a public message board.

Thanks to every Celtic fan involved in making and displaying that banner. Particularly at this time of year it is great to know that there are others in the football fraternity who support our cause.

I think you guys are being overcritical of Monkeywool. All he's saying is he found the choice of words on the banner "We've never walked alone" cheesy and a little too saccharine for his taste. I dont see in any way how that is an offensive opinion. It's simply his view which he's entitled to. He's in no way criticised the effort to highlight the cause or the camaraderie between Liverpool and Celtic fans.

I dont necessarily agree with his sentiment, but see no need to crucify him over it either.

Btw, would just like to say, Celtic fans are classy. Respect to them.

I've got that Celtic-Liverpool memorial match on video somewhere. Think it was our first game after Hillsborough. I'm going to try to dig it out.

Mate I disagree with his view as well. I just dont think there's any need to jump down his throat about it

I do not think 'a little too saccharine' equates to 'Vomit inducing'.
