People travel from further afield than that Mark and you know it.

The Glove had a very valid point - stats so not tell the 'full' picture. Scoring goals ain't the only thing to a striker's game. Even Fowler himself would acknowledge he's past premiership fitness... that's why he's talking to America.

Unfortunately being a student and all that... i'm kinda skint most of the time.
Got over to the Blackburn game in october, that's all for this season.

Glove's point was valid IMO wheter you're at the match or on your armchair.

Look at his all-round game. He's clearly knackered after each run... i wonder how he gets a game at all to be honest.

          Kuyt

          65 shots, 23 on target!

That kind of says it all really!

Kuyt is not good enough to be a lone striker and he isn’t creative enough to be a support striker.

          That’s the problem.

He would be perfect in a mid table team, somebody like Bolton or Fulham.

You do know that shots that hit the post are classed as off target? Jesus I cant believe this. Only one stat is important. The League table. Every other stat doesnt mean anything at all. Kuyt or Bellamy or even Fowler could score one goal all season for us but if they are involved and contirbute to other people scoring for us then is that a bad thing?

There is no use moaning about how we need this player or how we need that player right now because we cant change anything until the summer. We have a average set of strikers so we have to pick the best of a bad bunch to bumble us along until we are safe in the top 4. With Crouch out its time to properly see if Kuyt and Bellamy can make it work. Fowler should only be a bit part player. Everyone is going on about how Fowler needs games, well Fowler isnt the future, at the minute and until we sign someone, Kuyt and Bellamy are so give them the games. Atleast come the summer if either or both are sold they will have had their chance and next season we wont be all moaning about how it was too soon to sell them and comparing whoever to Kuyt. ****s sake.

And Marky. Watch a game rather than looking at a stat chart. Its no coinciednce that the majority of people who go the game on here are all saying that Fowler is past it. Are they wrong or do they just see more than you? Im not saying they are better fans but sometimes highlights and even the Telly doesnt show the whole picture.

and the league table says that united have scored 20 odd goals more than us etc etc ....... I only pulled that useless stat to add weight to my point that Kuyt shoots a lot without hitting the target and hence might not make a good lone striker.

I dont care how many times he has hit the post.....

I didnt need any stats to prove he is no Bergkamp, but i am sure I could find some.......

I don't go to anfield and even I can tell from my armchair that Robbie is way past it. I see pretty much every game, whether courtesy of Sky or the tinternet, it is clear to me and has been clear to me for many years that Robbie Fowler is a big pile of poo, loveable poo, but still poo.

Tis true mate. Everyone wants him to do well but most of us can see that it wont happen.

And sadly, more likely to score than any of our other strikers, even if he is physically poo.

And I pulled the hitting the post line to prove that stats mean **** all. If it goes in its classed as on target yet if it bounces off the line and is saved its classed as not. See how that makes stats a pile of wank?

Who is saying that Kuyt is like Bergkamp? Only a tool would make such a comparison right now.

Kuyt drops deep, so shoots a lot from distance. Im sure even people who regulary score goals from outside the box miss more often than not. If Kuyt is to be played on his own as an out and out striker then, Id like to think he wouldnt be dropping deep so his shots would stand a better chance to hit the target wouldnt they? Stats Schmats

If you mean, more likely to score in the last 5 minutes of a game then Id agree. Unless whatever strikers have been playing a blinder or have the beating of who they are up against that is.

I dont understand the clamour tbh, Robbie is a bit part player, If Robbie came in and scored 10 goals before the end of season it wont make a lot of difference to our finishing position. Would love to see Hammill or Lindfield get a a game or two before him!!

i disagree he is not poo at all he is GOD
he's not the same robbie from a good few years back but he hasnt played at all to be classed as poo i mean hes played 32 times since he came back and has scored 12 and most of these were problably sub appearances.

                            all hail robbie

I think we should bring back King Kenny. He played great in the Tsunami game and his wife's charity game. He is just as fit as Fowler and deserves the chance to better his scoring record.
