Gracia wouldn't get into the first team of any of our rivals, he's not cut out for the Premiership and he's nowhere near consistent enough. And he's not good enough for us either. Rafa considering his position makes sense, he was a cut price, versatile signing when we were skint but now we can do with much better if we want to bring home #19.

I wouldn't say 7 million pounds is cut price. And if my memory serves me right, it took alot of persuasion for Barcelona to let him come to us. He was considered Ronaldinho's, (2 or 3 times World Player of the Year), back-up.

If Garcia leaves and then the incoming player is better (whether that plaer plays in Garcia's position or not) then that's an improvment in my book. Ideally if he leaves you would want a similar style (but better) replacement. Which is why I said if we part-ex'd Garcia for Eto'o and got a cut-price Tevez at the same time, then we would have gotten a good deal.

Why has everyone turned down this open goal? Too obvious?

Marky, comments like this really leave you wide open.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Garcia can frustrate even the most patient of fans but he's a must for the XVI whenever he's fit, both in the CL and Premiership.

He's got the lot on his day - his passing, shooting and heading can be sublime. His positional play defensively can be poor but as an attacking force he can get into great positions - how many goals have we scored from garcia when he's been leading the line despite playing in midfield.

I think we've missed him since he got injured, particularly in games like the Villa one recently.

Yes clearly not good enough to be the top scoring midfielder in Spain for Barcelona when we bought him either then?

No in terms of not rating Garcia.

He's clearly not consistent or reliable enough for a club like ours.
how many important goals has he scored for us? how many games has he won for us?

how many of his mistakes upfront has cost us points or goals...

i think what you will find that what he has offered us is much much more than he has cost us...

he's been very important to us, and we miss him. we missed him on saturday, when there was no creativity left in the team. same goes for aston villa, and many other games, he's the most creative player in the team...

Instructions for anyone new to internet football forums:

                              1) Harshness such as displayed on this thread is common and not to be worried about, eg, 'Momo's ****, Garcia's ****, Crouch is ****, sell Alonso, no!- sell Stevie G instead,' etc, etc. They're not ****, and we shouldn't sell our best players. It's just the way of the world.

                              2) There's always a porn forum attached somewhere for when you get bored of saying everyone's ****.

It's mostly young supporters that have a dislike of Garcia, those that haven't yet grasped the philosophy of the game, and are lacking in skills that see the overall bigger & wider picture that certain players will always bring to the side.
