I lost count at over 100 the number of "if"s in this thread.

you should get another hobby mate
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

For anyone to think that Kewell will start the game though is crazy but I'm sure he can put in a dangerous 15 minutes if needed.

Doesn't matter what anyone thinks and you have know idea about football if you don't believe it but we've missed Harry this year. As much as I love him I have to say I'm dissapointed with his time at Liverpool but it's not his fault he had septic arthritis and it's not he's fault that he's thrown into matches unfit.

He won't be starting at Chelsea but I think he can be someone who can add a bit of spark off the bench because at the moment there is no one at Liverpool who can do that!

          Remember, In Rafa we trust!
A 50% fit Kewell is better than a 100% SpeedyG Especially if Fabio is out. Riise @ left back and Harry further forward is the best we can hope for.

It's not that much difference. Once you are fit then it won't be much difference how long time it will take you to get match fit.

Four months or 10 months out isn't that much difference when you are fit again.
You are absolutely deluded if you think four or ten months out of football isn't that much of a difference. It's a big difference.

Alonso had pre-season, played a few months of football then got injured. Kewell hasn't had any of that so please don't tell me there isn't much difference.

Kewell doesn't need to do a full pre-season. He will only need to train so he can make the last month of the season, after that he can make a full pre-season with the rest of the squad.

So there isn't that much difference in this case.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Fact is we need to have more attacking threats. If at all fit he will be on the bench, there is almost no way I can see him starting.

The problem with an Arbeloa/Riise parnetship is that it will never push back their fullback on a consistent basis. There is a good chance that Jose will pick Essien their and he can be a real threat coming forward from deep. It's probably the area I'm most worried about against Chelsea after Drogba just doing something magic.

                      Play Harry Kewell ?????

                      Are you Sure ???????

Might as well bring Cisse back for this one as well then... I mean it's only a European Cup semi final against Chelsea...

                      Reasons not to play him

                      1) He hasn't played all year so he has no match fitness whatsoever

                      2) He hasn't performed well for years

                      3) Gonzalez is better

you clearly don't understand anything about how important pre-season training is for getting players fit and working together, or how vital MATCH fitness is to how they actually perform

I know how important a pre-season is. What I mean is that Kewell don't need to work his socks off so he will be able to do a full season. He will only need the time it takes for him to get to that fitness level that he will be able to play the rest of this season, around six weeks.

Kewell has played with the team before. He won't need that much time to fit in again. We don't know how much match fitness he needs. Rafa would never play him if he isn't ready. If he starts a game then he will be ready and fit.

I don't believe he will start any game. Rafa will probably use him as a sub first before that happens but you never know with Rafa.
