They were nowhere near the team they will field at Anfield next Tuesday.

We need the spirit of Istanbul to prevail.

Before 2005, the last time we had won a the European Cup was 1984.

The spirit will be there no doubt. Whether it will be enough is another question.

It was an understrength Chelsea admittedly yes, but it's the only real psychological factor we have in our favour, and it'll be the one thing Rafa will be concentrating his players on.

Sadly, it is no easy task. We needed that away goal badly.

The Chavs are always likely to score, and they love to play on the counter attack.

Not being pessimistic, just looking at it objectively and tactically and thinking were going to have to put in a perfect performance all round the pitch. We have to bomb ob for goals but we cannot concede on the counter.

I'm worried this will play on the minds of some of the players and they will be caught in limbo, neither fully committing to attack or defence.

Good points being made about the fact Chelski had no defence when we beat them 2-0 at Anfield

we just need to keep it tight.

over 90 mins they will tire. if the volume is cranked up and the walls are shaking im sure they will make mistakes.

Terry wasn't playing and Cech had just returned after a lengthy absence.
