      So what?
So they were missing a player or two. They were at full strength when we beat them 1-0 in the last CL semi at home. They were at full strength when we beat them in the charity shield and the FA cup semi last season.

We can beat a full-strength Chelsea side, and 1-0 is enough to take it to extra time.
Then it becomes a new game in extra time, where we either draw 0-0 and it goes to pens, or we out-score them, at home, with the fans on our side, during the last 30 minutes.
There's too many doom and gloom merchants - realists even - but I prefer to think if Chelsea can beat us 1-0 at their home over 90 mins then we can do the same to them at Anfield. Plus then we'll have the benefit of being at home for extra time.
I'd rather be at home for those 30 minutes than away, even if an away goal would kill us.
And if it goes to pens then again, I'd rather be at home.

Fair point but I expect Chelsea to shut the door on Tuesday and hit us on the counter attack. You can't blame anyone from being pessimistic or dissapointed after that lacklustre performance. We just made things more difficult than they should be.

Drogba will be on egg shells at Anfield so to not pick up a booking and miss the final. Over 90 mins last night we did ok against them. No team goes to Chelsea in a CL semi final and play open football.

I think we can score at Anfield and force the game - l'm still confident of going through. Our lads will have a clear focus and game plan and be fired up to win and go through as compared to not losing and giving themselves a chance in the 2nd leg as they were last night,

With all due respect, there's no such thing as "shutting the door" in a 90 minute game of football.
They're a good defensive unit, but then so are we. They scored against us. We can score against them.
We don't even need to be cavalier about it, as 1-0 is enough to get us on level terms.
In fact, if they play it defensively, that could be the worst thing they could do. No team can sit back and defend for 90 minutes at Anfield without us creating some good chances. And if we miss the chances that do come along, then fair enough we deserve to go out.

But I think we'll do it.

For those who think Chelsea won't ship more than 1 goal, Milan had shipped fcuk all in 2005 and fell to pieces when the momentum swung our way

What I fear most is us taking a one goal lead and holding out as Chelski, like the Scum are notorious for nicking one at the end and if that happens is game over

Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

                      Six crazy minutes.

We are Liverpool and we like to do things the hard way!

Roma (Ged's comeback), Olympiakos (Stevie's rocket), Milan (Heaven) and soon to be Chelsea.

The stadium will be rocking, our (individual) flags will be flying and Chelsea will tremble in fear...

I hope not, I feel that has got us in this predicament. Chelsea came to the game after particpating in hotly contested battles, meaning they were able to hit the ground running. Whilst it appeared we continued in the same vein of our recent matches and we just couldn't match Chelsea's intensity.

I hope the crowd can change that.

There is some truth to that, in the first half they looked much sharper than we did.

                              True.
It seems like a lot of times we need to be literally backs against the wall to perform at our best.

I think the key to next week is the level of belief amongst our players that they can turn it round. We had a number of players last night who lacked that extra edge that real belief brings.

The bad news for me is that Jose and the Chelsea players aren't being too cocky and crowing about what they are going to do in Athens etc. I don't think they will be as fazed by the Kop as they were in 2005.

We need to get at them fast on Tuesday to unsettle them and really get the crowd boiling. All we need at this stage is one goal!!
