If they strangle the game the way they did last night I think we will really struggle to break them down. I personally think 1-0 after 90 mins is the best we can hope for.

I can see this game ending 0-0

If chelski play like they did last night they'll probably score.
If we can score and stop them, then we might stand a chance in extra time, they might start feeling the season then. It's a helluva big IF though.

I want to believe we can do it, but I'm not a fantasist, the more likely outcome is we wont quite have enough. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

Heae we ever beaten them 1-0 in a CL Semi-Final? I seem to recall we did.

Have we beaten them 2-0 at Anfield in the recent past? Injuries or no, I believe the answer is yes.

Worst case, do they ever concede 3 goals in a game? Only aainst the 'mighty' Spurs barely a month ago (WITH Terry, Cech and Carvalho playing).

Finally, Have we ever scored 3 goals to win a European match in extremis? APART from Inter, Bruges, St Etienne, the Mark Walters one, Alaves, Olympiakos and Milan, of course.

Believe, folks, that's our job. Let's not get all wussy because a CL Semi-Final isn't panning out as a cosy, relaxed stroll in the park.

My biggest worry is....how many times can we keep pulling rabbits out of the hat? We can't do it every time. We're almost so used to incredible, dream European nights at Anfield that it's come to be expected.

Hopefully a Bolton player will give Drogba something to fall over for real at the weekend - the 3 players I hate the most from Chelsea did us over last night, Drogba, Joe Cole and that **** Carvalho.

We can beat them at Annie, it won't be easy but then the semi final of the CL is never going to be easy - we clawed 3 back on Milan 2 years ago we can do claw back one and snatch another at home.

The key will obviously be if Chelsea score, but lets face it thats far from certain. they are a very good side and beat us comfortably last night but at Anfield we are a different side.

This season we've beat Arsenal 4-1 & Chelsea 2-0. Although we lost to the mancs it was a game we could very easily have won by 2 goals.

It won't be easy for LFC but equally it won't be easy for them either. They may well go through but believe me we'll give them 1 hell of a fight. When you're away from home in the 1st leg, the no.1 priority is to give yourself a decent chance in the 2nd leg, we've done that, only just, but we've done it.

this is the European cup semi final, its supposed to be bloody hard to get through. People are talking like we are already out, we aren't, far from it. To claim to be the best team in Europe you need to be able to beat very good sides at home by 2 goals, thats the task that awaits us. difficult...yes, impossible...far from it.

Is right, Istanbul is the kind of result that happens once in a generation. Listening to some people on here it sounds like something we can conjur up at will.

To be fair though Tom, the size of the challenge facing us is nowhere near as big as Istanbul.
Comparing the two like that is folly, IMO.

We're probably going to have to score 3 (given the chance they could well score an away goal), so it's going to be tough.

                        Not impossible though.

                          Spot on mate.
FFS we are only 1-0 down. Sure they are favourites but 1-0 to them certainly doesn't mean its all over. It will be hard for us, but it'll be hard for them. If we can get the first goal, then we are in the box seat in my view.

Whats' with all the doom and gloom. Let's face it all in all we were pretty **** last night and Chelsea didn't take advantage of that to anywhere near the extent they should have!
Next weeks game will be completely different. We are ONE goal behind. That lead can be wiped out in a second. The recent history of the CL is littered with examples of teams going through who faced far stiffer tasks than the one we do. Monaco 5 Real 1 ( 1st leg Real 3 Monaco 0) Deportivo 4 Milan 0 (1st leg Milan 4 Deportivo 1). This year Milan have had to go and beat both Lyon and Bayern away after poor home results. All day I've had people saying "they'll defo get a goal at Anfield" . How the **** they know that??. The lead can and probably will change hands more than once in both of next weeks games.
I can't help feeling that after next weeks games Chelsea could be saying to themselves "We blew it at the Bridge" Here's hoping
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.
