    Pato, £18m
    D.Bent, £15m+
    Owen, £9m
    Amauri, £15m+
    Trezeguet, £10m+
    Iaquinta, £8m
    Tevez, £20m+

Owen is the best option if you look at what he will cost.

Assuming your figures are correct, if he proves his fitness and his commitment to LFC - then yes. Look at him now, he is so indifferent, disinterested and unmotivated - no doubt it's because he's at the barcodes but would it be different if he was at Anfield or would he still only be thinking about the next England game?

He was already at one of the Worlds Biggest and most successful clubs.
As Carra said and it defines what way all Liverpool born players should feel.
A bigger club? what club is bigger than Liverpool - words to that effect.

He ****ed us around until Rafa lost patience because he didn't show his commitment when we were about to embark on a new chapter with a manager that the little midget rated very highly.
What has he won since leaving - **** all and what has he missed out on everything I dare had he stayed we could've won the league by now but he didn't and he missed out on some serious prizes.
Also he could've put his foot down last season also and demanded to only talk to us this would've put Real under pressure with the fee and shown his true colours.
His 2nd chance has come and gone.
Besides which mate I don't ever see him playing more than half a season at a time.

Yeah and we get fed this bull**** about how he never wanted to leave and was forced out by Rafa.

Thats just a load of nonsense mate.
sure Owen cares about playing for England, whats wrong with that. SG wanted to be England captain so is he more interested in England than LFC. How do you know Owen isn't motivated or interested in playing for Newcastle. Thats just a massive assumption on your part.

As for his committment to LFC, if he comes backs that shows his committment to the club. What do you want him to do, say he wants to join us, whilst still at Newcastle, don't be naive.

As for his injuries, if we signed him, he'd have a full medical, that would see if there is any long term problems. Owen may have lost a touch of pace but his game had much more to it than that. look at cisse, quicker than Owen but not half the player. People don't realise just how good Owen is. At his best he was world class. His international record speaks for itself as does his club records with LFC & Madrid.

People are against Owen because he left LFC for Madrid. So what, he wanted to try his luck abroad. now he wants to come home, Rafa should be on the blower to fat Freddie with a cheque for £9m in his hand. We'd have Owen back were he belongs, at LFC.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Darren Bent is going to cost closer to £10 million. And is close to Joining Spurs, according to their fan sites. Pato is also closer to £10million

Not to ram this point again, but MO has been injuried for two seasons now. And he is a Bosman in January.
If he wants to rejoin us - he can stall on a contract (like he did) and we can sign him on a free
              Otherwise not worth the risk
              We need better attacking players!

              Torres aint enough

Owen has two years left on his contract, not one. He can buy out his contract next season for around £6m.

Theres more to football than LFC, there are other clubs in the world. So he wanted to play for Madrid, why wouldn't he. They are the worlds most successful club & Owen wanted to try his luck there. He had a chance & he took it, big deal.

He didn't screw LFC in my view. He could have easily gone on a Bosman but he didn't. He probably should have insisted on only talking to us when he left Madrid but was worried it would put his England world cup place in jeopardy. Again so what, he wanted to make sure he played in a world cup, you only get to play in 3 or 4 if you're very lucky. He made a mistake, people do.

All this stuff about only wanting to play for us, is a nonsense. Do you think every player who plays for us has only ever wanted to play for us, not a chance. Christ most of our home grown players in recent years have been bluenoses as kids, Carra included.

We should buy Owen back because he's the best player for us. We need a goalscorer & he's as good as they come. He's available & we can afford him. But some don't want him because he left us for Madrid , pathetic.

its not because, its how he did it and dont just say its as much the clubs fault, the media whore owen is i am sure he could have used papers to his advantage and made public his wish to stay.
I dont see how a player who has played 13 times in 2yrs as being the best option for us, to risky allegedly bulking out and losing a bit of speed.

I have always said that we need two new high quality strikers because if we only sign one and he gets injured then we would be in big trouble.

AF is giving his opinion that Owen is the best option. thats what this site is for , so people can give opinions. If we only stuck to hard facts it'd be a pretty poor site to be a part of.

The trouble is mate, you are letting your hatred of Owen blind you from the facts.

You use words like media whore and let him rot in the toon for a season. You hate Owen, thats fair enough but that doesn't mean he's not the best player for us.

As for injuries, fair point but he'd have a full medical. If that shows anything up, then don't buy him. Eto'o was out injured for ages this season, ditto Henry. Are you saying we should let them have a full season playing before trying to buy them.

I want Owen back, not because of what he's done in the past but because of what I believe he will do for us in the future. I suggest you do the same.

I forgave Owen for leaving almost as soon as he'd signed on the dotted line for Real. You can't blame a fella for leaving his comfort zone and wanting to challenge himself.

Does it mean I am 'pro-Owen?' Not really. I just think he is a top top player available for a reasonably low price.
