I was hoping that would be changed a little, new design looks depressing as its already been done.

Yes you can. And on match day the cones prevent people from parking outside on the road. So the cones would remain, but you couldn't enforce a "no traffic" zone.

It is possible people are exagerrating the infrastructure problem. I've heard loads of rumours locally in Anfield about a railway station at The Clarence etc. Brent council in London have enforced a 1 1/2 mile no parking zone around Wembley which, if violated, the offender's vehicle is towed away. This kind of think is certain to be implemented.
Maybe fans are expected to radically change their match going habits. You could set up 2 or 3 Large car parks outside the limit and disperse people that way. Subsidised buses could be laid on to ferry people in and out of the area fairly quickly. Facts have to be faced supporters are a determined bunch and WILL walk miles if necessary to get to the ground and the owners realise this. Besides, what major sporting or music event isn't a nightmare to get in and out of? I remember getting stuck in Wembley's car park for hours after various games.

That kind of thing will never happen at Anfield because of the large number of houses around the ground "sorry mate you cant visit your Mam on match day else we'll tow your car away".
Public Transport will have to be improved but i dont know about rail, if thats to happen they had better start now as it will take years to build.

I live off Utting Avenue and we're getting parking permits sorted this summer. You can also get visitors permit for this very purpose. As for the station, local legend has that a platform from an old station still exists in the area.

Just means like now the visitor permits will be used by fans mate. Train would be great but im a lazy **** and will still find a way to drive

If the stadium expands to 68,000 now, and we spend a few years getting all the planning permissions, transport issues etc sorted, then by the time we are ready to expand England will be in line to host the 2018 or 2022 World Cup and G&T will be able to get government funding for the transport links at least, maybe for the stadium. Could well be smart for the club to do it this way.

I dont care what the initial capacity is for the new stadium. As long as it's not a capped amount like the current design

and hicks indicated 75k-78k but didn't say anything about it being over a period of time

From what I've seen of La Bombonera, it has only 3 stands !
