    Hyypia to stay then...?!

Copied from a post on .tv - so apologies for theiving

Sami Hyypiä will stay at Anfield despite the speculation in the media. He told that to Finnish media today in Finnish national teams press conference.

He had a meeting with Rafa before the Champions league and according to Sami that meeting lasted for two minutes. Rafa said "We are happy with you and you are not for sale. I will go back to Liverpool in July for pre-season training. Next season will be my ninth in Liverpool and I still have one year left on my current contract." Hyypiä commented.

    Good, good news

          Brilliant, brilliant news.
A top player and as loyal a player as they come.
          Oh Sami, Sami...

Good news and it probably means that we won't sign Milito.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Spot bollock on, and to think that some people want the boy gone. Name a better 3rd choice CB than big Sami... the guy loves the club, experienced, reads the game well, will save us £££s on getting a new CB - and although he's not as fast as he used to be, he's certainly not 'past it'. Playing 15 odd League games & CC matches will probably be beneficial to him and LFC, keeps him fresh enough and ready for action when needed.

Great news. I think we'll still sign Milito though and Sami will be the 4th choice. Paletta will probably be loaned out or even sold. If Distin had come then I reckon Sami might have been made available.

Hyypia is an absolute legend. The embodiment of the class and mentality that this club is based on, particularly demonstrated by how magnanimously he accepted the loss of his captaincy, and now by his dedication to the club even whilst warming the bench.

                    True legend of LFC.

Rafa probably needed the money it would cost to sign Milito to sign another player IMO.

                              Makes sense.

Sami stays as cover, and the youngsters get one more year to prepare for stepping up as squadies.
