I dont believe that, maybe if he was offered for free, Rafa may have said, yes please, Rafa doesnt like his targets not saying I only want to play for Liverpool and nobody else, if Owen had done that while at Real, he would now be a Liverpool player, he choose the other option.

Jasus although I like Owen, I hated it when he was with us. The entire team was set up to appease his style of play, at times it felt like Michael Owen FC. If he had a crap game we were ****ed.

I like him and all that but there are other options and his has been knackered now for years

You can't blame him for the way Houllier used the team. Houllier had the best counter attacking player in the World so I can understand why he used Owen in that way.

Arsenal for example is also set up around one player, Henry. They had the same problem last season when Henry was out injured as we had when Owen was out injured. They could not change tactics and play a different system.
