Why were people slagging Dirk off today?

When ever i have seen him interviewed he says his prefered position is left back. Not to say thats where he is best obviously.

Yeah he played as well as the 11 Villa players did- absolute gash!

His touch was at it's usual poor standard, he didn't find a redshirt all ****ing day his shots where wayward at best (god knows what u were watching if you thought Kuyt was poor). Oh and maybe someone would like to inform me what the **** that diving header was about in the first half. He could have controlled that and took it forward, instead he flung himself to the ground and looked like a complete dickhead.

JAR needs to pull his socks up cause Benitez and maybe more importantly the fans won't put up with that type of performance week in week out and it's been going on now since the very start of last season!

No I don't think you are. For me to be honest Aurelio is the better option at left back. He's about as poor defensively as Riise but his attacking play i.e. delivery, setpieces, passing etc is much much better. It's a shame he's so damn injury prone

This is what I mean about people not understanding or not watching. Kuyt is in the team to get goals fair enough but mostly work hard and create. This is why Torres has been bought in because despite Kuyt doing all that last season he had no one up with him who'd finish the chances off. Now if Kuyt scores between 10 and 15 goals a season then Benitez will not only keep hold of him but he'll play most weeks. While we have Torres thats where our goals will be coming from- Kuyt will have to have a pretty awful season performance wise more so than goal wise for Benitez to sell him on.

Every chance I get Jacko, i just feel Benitez bought the best(open to debate) available to him with the money he was allowed. So we got Dirk Kuyt!! I said it before and i'm tired of repeating myself to the same people on here, Kuyt was signed to score goals not to run about the pitch like a blue arsed fly, and he isn't and i hope i'm proved wrong but i don't see any quality. I also believe Rafa is aware of this and will continue to play him week in week out hoping he scores the goals but he lacks quality and confidence. He's not good enough!!

Went the game on Saturday myself and Kuyt was simply our best player IMO. Worked the hardest, linked the midfield and the attack up superbly, very rarely gave the ball away and was instrumental in the goal and pretty much all our good play on the day. I don't think it is always wind up merchants, there's just some people on these forums who don't know how to play football or simply just don't watch it.

Just open your ****ing eye and actually watch a game. He scored 12 goals in 27 starts in the league last season. And his style of play is an instruction from Rafa just like Torres is to play on the shoulder of the last defender. You're not Rafa to slag Kuyt for working hard and dropping deep for link up play.

But he was criticised during the game by Myeye while being on of the best players on the pitch, he did play well on Sat, even the daily post gave him MOM.

I feel I should reply to the barking hoardes. Before I do can I please clarify that I do like DK. Its just that he frustrates me from time to time. He's finishing is very suspect & along with a number of posters on this forum if we just wanted a bloke to run around like a lunatic why didn't Rafa just sign keith Chegwin?!! I'm kidding of course as I really believe he has a role in the team but its not as a striker cos lads come on... one on one with the keeper who would you rather have Kuyt (£9m) or Van Persie (£3m). nuff said

no I did not. It was his debut, away from home, he deosn't speak the language, he hasn't been training with this squad for over a year & to be honest if you had read my post you'll see that I had an issue with Kuyts decision making (not missing chances... what chances?Q!)

Crouch by no means sickens me. He has a particular role to play & in fairness to the lad he plays it very well. Crouch never had pace...why would that piss me off?! for Gods sake thats like saying I'm pissed off cos my Fiat panda doesn't do 0-60 in 4.34 seconds?!

Kuyt had a great opportunity to score however decided to faf about with the ball. This frustrates Liverpool fans about him, he's in decent positions but doesn't finish
