not really an intelligent player he is.he is someone like cisse the only difference is cisse never did understand the meaning of remaining on side....whereas kuyts is always miles away from the opposition back line which makes him as useless as cisse

i have never rated him and never will. lets just agree to disagree.Originally posted by MrMichael View PostI thought Kuyt had a decent game. Not brilliant, but not dreadful, Torres and he look to be developing a good understanding, and his performance certainly was not the crucial talking point of the game. Were it not for the worst referee we've had at Anfield in years, we would have convincingly beaten the most expensively assembled team in history, and many people's favourites for the title. Kuyt does need to improve certain aspects of his game, but can you not see there is something a bit warped for him to be your instant target after this game, once again?

I agree with you AFII, about the whole thing. Kuyt's doing as he's told, Rafa seems to want to play him in a certain way which, over here, is not really working properly. Kuyt's a strong fella and he can half-decently (albeit today, where he lost possession frequently) hold up the ball, he should be playing up front more, ie. getting into the box. Someone else should be providing the link between midfield and attack, Gerrard, for instance. Kuyt's got a powerful shot on him and should utilise it more, which he can only do if Rafa gives him the freedom to play higher up. Torres and Kuyt could interlink as well, one dropping a touch deeper, and vice versa.

Bollocks.Originally posted by Red_Al_77 View PostSo the Kuyt bashers are out again are they? People have such short memories.
There is substantial evidence to back people up when they point out Kuyt's weaknesses. I admire Dirk's workrate and attitude, I really do, but the fact is he remains a fairly ordinary footballer with an average goal/game ratio in all comps for Liverpool.
He has an awful lot to prove this season and In my opinion Crouch should be given the chance to play up top with Torres next weekend.

He's only had one season ffs. Crouch went 29 games without scoring and he doesn't get half the stick now.Originally posted by anfieldanfield View PostBollocks.

That's what bothers me.Originally posted by Ben Tover View PostThe way Pennant is delivering, I don't understand why Kuyt doesn't get himself in the box. He is somewhat built and I am sure he can muscle himself with big defenders. Thats the frustrating thing about him, we know he has a good record in Holland, why doesn't he start proving it?!
Against Villa in particular Pennant put in a few crosses and he just stood and watched. Is it that on the instructions of Benitez or is he a bottler?
Aside from his workrate I just don't see what he gives us.I hate Polanski

He got stick off muppets.Originally posted by Red_Al_77 View PostHe's only had one season ffs. Crouch went 29 games without scoring and he doesn't get half the stick now.
But there were those of us - during his barren spell - who saw how well he held the ball up, how well he linked up with Gerrard and Garcia in particular. Then of course the goals followed and so did the wins.
I know Crouch isn't the most mobile, but in a pure footballing sense; troubling defenders with his physique, his touch and his finishing he's ahead of Kuyt for me.
I'll stick my neck out that by the Autumn it'll be Torres and Crouch as the main partnership.I hate Polanski

It's a big season for Dirky, that's for sure. Crouch and Voronin will be breathing down his neck to partner Torres.
It will be interesting to see how it all develops.

That's just ridiculous. So if he scored 10 in 10 from now, you'd still be using 95% of your posts on here to diss him?Originally posted by justcruisin View Postas long as he puts on a liverpool shirt ....
Whatever happened to supporting any player who pulls on our shirt, especially one who, whatever you think of his ability, gives 110% every single game?
We all want a better goal/assist return from Dirk, and many have concerns over his ultimate quality, but this blind dislike you have for everything he does is really far more than silly.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?
