I'm sure Rafa and whomever will have gone through every possible scenario before this whole thing and not put their eggs in one basket.
Why come out and say we have then. Surely the only reason could be to show solidarity to Heizne. Maybe he will sit it out if he's that committed, but I'd be surprised.

Suprised by this decision as the last thing that football needs or the prem is a player getting really pissed and going to the european courts, it is a restraint of trade and if pushed coud cause massive problems. In normal life a contactor can sign a 12 month contract and if he doesn't like his job he can walk away from the employer, sport is the only place this can't happen.
Also saying that the reason they have a problem with it is the verbal conversation and uniteds transfer policy means that it was intended as an international transfer - garbage.

Because going by previous experiences I just do not see Rafa working that way with Paco as his side-kick. The way they train, the way Rafa is so meticulous about every single aspect of managing, I just can't see them having no back-up plan. Look at how quickly we signed that French goalie out of the blue after Carson decided he needed more game-time, which is ample. No one had a ****ing clue and bam the deal was done.

I believe there is more to come regarding this decision. I doubt after all the time we've 'invested' in this ordeal, ours to just say 'Yea, well, whatever, **** Heinze and **** United'. Just doesn't seem the way we'd go about this business.

well ... heinze had the chance to move to whichever club we wanted to earlier in the summer but didn't do it. question remains why he refused to buy out the remainder of his contract and regain the money from the sign-on fee paid by his new employer.
from that perspective nobody could have blocked his move thus he was free to chose his employers just like the rest of us.
              what's the fuzz?

Couldn't care less, but it's a bit embarassing for Rafa given his cockiness.

yeah but how come they all were so sure about the outcome?
after all the ruling sounds pretty straightforward doesn't it?

Why the hell is it embarrassing..Did anyone really think we would win..I know I didn't...Anyhow Rafa had to show confidence in those working on behalf of Heinze and in doing so show respect for what the man himself was going through..as was Hicks..What would be the point if they were not confident.. Now lets move on and buy someone that's worth the fee...

It's embarassing because what they (Rafa and Hicks) should have said was something along the lines of "It's a possibility that the player may leave Manure and if he does then we may be interested.", or even, "It's possible that we can do something if Manure let him go".

But Hicks interview he was bullish and was all about "Rafa tells me he'll be our player and I believe him.......there are a few issues but Rafa is confident and it'll be sorted next week.......we're only looking at one more addition to the squad and that's a name that's been talked about and will be sorted next week"......that's the problem for me, we (the club) don't usually spout off about potential targets until they're in the bag. It's embarassing that we've been so cocky but not got the result we wanted.

Unless of course, it was all a screen of smoke and all we wanted to do was a) upset the Mancs and/or b) pursue someone else without interference from other clubs.
