All you young lads should listen to Scousertommy.
What more fitting a tribute to a little lad coming home from footy practice and not making it than being honourde by your greatest - and often most bitter; rivals.

I was proud to be a liverpool supporter tonight as I think were all there tonight.
Me too pal, being in Anfield at that moment was truly emotional. Tonight showed that despite all the local rivalry and what not, we are human beings who are showing respect to our fellow man in their time of need. An amazing moment, I lost my voice many times singing at that time. RIP little man, bet he's playing footy in heaven already

I couldn't get to watch the game, but I got emotional reading some of the posts that detailed how touching tonight really was

I've got mixed feelings on what should or shouldn't have been done for the lad personally. I have 2 young cousins who are both bluenoses, and god forbid should anything happen, then i honestly don't know what my stance would be

I think the most important thing to remember is the lad himself, his family, and the situation that concerns children of our areas.

Football to me is important, but I tell you what, contrary to what Shanks said one time, some things other than football are actually more important than life or death

He was a scouse kid, a child of Liverpool.
Blue or Red, he was a child of Liverpool.
We're a football team from Liverpool.

      RIP Rhys, YNWA

I think it was fantastic to offer our heartfelt condolences to the family of a little lad who was taken away by an act of stupidity - watching it choked me up. This is what it is about though, whether an everton fan, or liverpool fan, or any other club fan, it was a terrible thing to happen to one so young.

        RIP Rhys mate

A no-brainer really, something had to be done at Anfield tonight to mark the Rhys's passing.
As Fiere has said above - he was a child from the city of Liverpool so whether he supported Everton or Liverpool is irrelevant, we're a club from the city of Liverpool, he was a big football fan and so like i say something had to done to pay tribute to the lad.
Nice gesture from L.F.C all the same and very well done to all who organised it, as well as the Liverpool and Toulouse fans in attendance.
            YNWA Rhys.

This poor lads death is a tragic event, but really it has **** all to do with us and this is leaping on the bad wagon after the everton guys had a good photo opportunity over the weekend. The kid was an everton fan, so its only right everton respond. People and children die everyday in the most harrowing and terrible circumstances, while the club should acknowledge these things when it's directly related to them, it should not use them a Public Relations exercise!!

We've gone mental over armbands everytime someone steps on a spider and this is an extension of that, with a more sinister twist marketing thrown into the mix too.

Superdan, I trust we'll have our club rep outside alderhay ensuring everyother tragic loss is marked in the same way?
You are the biggest prick ive come across on t`internet. I genuinely hope to meet you one day so I can punch a hole in your face you heartless, spineless ****house.

Here it is dickhead, A little boy was killed. He loved football and he loved everton. His family asked could z-cars be played at anfield because they felt he would be looking down and laughing about it. The club agreed because they wanted to make the family feel better.

Where is the problem in that you pathetic ****ty little ****?

I watched it on the telly when I got in from work and the look on little rhys`s poor mums face said it all. She was genuinely moved and grateful of the gesture. Thankfully there ARE some good people left who made this possible as one tiny little way of making the jones family feel slightly better.

R.I.P. Rhys little fella and I hope you enjoyed having a good laugh at our expense mate.

It was a brilliant gesture by the club and it made me very proud to be a Red and very proud of our beloved club and personally I couldn't give a flying **** if some eejit thinks it was the 'wrong' thing to do.

That little lad was doing no harm to anyone when he was struck down for no reason by some evil little *******

To see the looks on the faces of his family at the support they got from the people of their city and beyond was well worth it. It'll obviously never make up for the loss of their child but if it helps them then it was definitely the 'RIGHT' thing to do IMO

Rafa giving a big hug to Mrs Jones was a nice touch, one parent to another and all that

I'm with you 100% Paul mate, I truly hope that the little lad is having a good giggle wherever he is.

                      RIP Little Man YNWA

                          well said [/QUOTE]

I've replied via PM. A shame some of you seem unable or unwilling to read and understand whats been said rather than leap to some wierd conclusion. Spiders and Diana etc have nothing to do with Rhys, but something in common with the reactions..geddit?

If any of you want to debate or comment about my position in this matter, I suggest a new thread as I can't respond here. So either stop calling me a **** in here or be prepared to discuss my position in this thread, which will piss everyone off.

Just a factual correction, his family did not ask for this.

That's because you dont understand what you are talking about, and understand even less what I am talking about.

If everyone agrees, is it a discussion?
