How can you make people feel bad for paying tribute to a poor lad and his family? I'm going to the match tonight to support my team and pay tribute, how this will make me feel better god knows. Lock this up.Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

Can we lock it or delete it with the view to never discussing it again. I dont mind talking about the death of the poor lad but when its causing an argument I dont like it. Its not that Im against arguments, its just that to argue about something that can only do good for the family is not something I think most people like doingContrary to popular belief, I have huge genitals.

i think there is a debate to be had in general and somethings that billybob (sorry if i got your name wrong) has said do require a debate.
and just because he says things that not all agree with does not mean he doenst regret the poor boys death or feels less strongly about it than any of us.
his point is about the appropriateness of the response. I personally dont think that it is innapropriate where you have two clubs that form such a part of the comunity it is good for the whole community to mark there respects.
also as the parents approve that to me makes it a bit easier.
but i must say i have felt a bit uneasy with the find madeline campaign. that sort of national outpour for that one family when lots of others have had the same sort of thing with no where near the amount of coverage does make me uneasy.

This is a special case, this i a non gang involved 11 year old that has been shot and killed. This should be remembered by all in Liverpool.Originally posted by Marsh View Posti think there is a debate to be had in general and somethings that billybob (sorry if i got your name wrong) has said do require a debate.

I do understand what you are saying about the Madeline campaign though as there are lots of other children taken that we hear about for a day or two and then are forgotten. I don't think that should be considered in this case tough as this is such a special case as it was such an horrific case and people should remember and a message should be sent out to prevent it from happening again.

I wouldn't say "end of", i'd say that was quite debateable. You ever had to grieve in public?Originally posted by Draxdor View PostOur brothers and sisters in blue are hurting. By playing a song before a match we can maybe make them feel a little bit better.
End of.
*snip* Actually i'd say more but maybe in a few days"that is my opinion and that is more important than what anyone else has to say about it" - Mr A.Fergusson, Oct 2011

There are some things in life that touch your heart and bring a little tear to my eyes, this was one of them moments.Originally posted by paulcooper4 View PostANFIELD TO PAY FITTING TRIBUTE TO RHYS
Paul Eaton 28 August 2007
Liverpool Football Club will tonight pay Rhys Jones the ultimate tribute by playing his beloved Everton anthem at Anfield before the clash with Toulouse.
The Z-Cars theme tune 'Johnny Todd' - the song which traditionally greets the arrival of the Everton team onto the Goodison Park pitch - will be played prior to 'You'll Never Walk Alone' ahead of this evening's 8.05pm kick-off.
Following a suggestion from Liverpool Echo feature writer Tony Barrett to mark the youngster's tragic death in such an unprecedented way, the newspaper was inundated with requests for the unique tribute to be staged.
Anfield chief executive Rick Parry spoke with Rhys's family who agreed they would be delighted if the Reds paid tribute to their son's memory in such a fitting way.
After the two songs there will then be a minute's applause and the Liverpool players will show their respect by wearing black armbands during the game.
Rhys's parents Stephen and Melanie will also be at Anfield for the game.
The youngster's uncle Neil Jones admits the family have been overwhelmed by such a show of support from the Blues' city rivals.
He said: "When I told them about the proposed tribute at Anfield, Melanie said playing Johnny Todd at Anfield would be a unique event, a complete one-off, just like Rhys, and a fitting tribute to him as it was his favourite tune.
"She's also pretty sure he'll have a little mischievous grin on his face at the thought of being the cause of it."
I bet he will

R.I.P. little fella
Rhys, I salute thee, RIP young man and may we bring justice and closure for your family.
As for some of the comments in this thread, this was not the time nor the place and you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Leave it out.
