they seem quite humbled by it - they're basically admitting that they wouldn't be capable of such a thing if the tables were turned.

So are we diong it for Everton fans, or for a little boy and his family? The latter I would suggest. The whole tribal bull**** stinks at times like this.

I totally disagree. I think it gives everyone a timely reminder that football ISN'T that important in the grand scheme of things.

The only thing I'm worried about is that some morons will **** it up.

                  What's the big deal?

An 11 year old boy has been shot dead ffs who gives a **** about football rivalry? Why do we need to twist and make issues of things? If playing Agger do before YNWA tonight gave the family some comfort I'm all for it.

There is nothing that needs debating here.
A horrible act was committed and our club, being a huge part of the local community, rightfully decided to remember the poor child who was murdered.
If you read the original article, it's clear that the family will gain some smidgeon of solace from it, and therefore it is worthwhile and fitting.
As many others have said, let's just hope it is impeccably observed.

We have to do what the family want. I'm not comparing this in any way to what his family are going through now at all, it's completely different, but my grandad died about a month ago. He was a fanatical Red and in fact is the reason why I support Liverpool. All of my family asked me to be responsible for playing YNWA at the funeral. I had to stand up in the church, which was full to the brim, and put the CD on. It's what my family wanted and I was so proud to do it.
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

My son Foster is a fan of soccer. He was a goaltender. His brother was a defenseman.

I should be clearer, especially with on a subject like this.

I think it's a good gesture and I hope his family get some solice from it. Whatever we can do for them we should.

Without wanted to cause any offense, I find having it turned into part of the tribal lfc/efc thing, with toffees being grateful etc leaves a bad taste in my mouth, that's all. I just hope the poor kid can rest in peace, and that this incident spurs people into tackling the problems of guns and teenage crime in the city head on.
