This was posted by the Rhys uncle on RWAK.

Just want to add my thanks to Tony for the original suggestion, and for all his subsequent efforts on this, it's a unique idea, to honour the memory of a unique lad, must admit I'm a bag of nerves over tonight myself, but have been re-assured somewhat by the the posts I've been reading across several LFC Forums. I can fully understand some people's misgivings on the nature of the tribute, who knows what the right thing to do is in a situation like this, I certainly don't, but i do know we've all been overwhelmed by the level of support from people, whether by their thoughts or their deeds.
Must also say that Rick Parry has been superb, I know the fella gets plenty of stick on here and elsewhere when fans think he's got it wrong, but he deserves full credit for his handling of this, which I might add he's done personally throughout

Looks like a publicity stunt to me? Surely you can see that this actually means a lot to the poor lads family? A song and a minutes applause is all we are doing. FFS man have a heart or **** off.

At least he has the balls to come on here and says what he feels.

What about the Liverpool fan who died when he smashed his head on the pavement in town when he was innocently punched in the face by a passer by?

      How was he remembered?

I'm not trying to stir things up here by the way before anyone starts.

I'll be at the game tonight giving my full support to the team and to all parties concerned and I don't have an issue with what the club are planning to do, I just think people like Billob should be allowed to say what they think without being insulted like that..

      That's all.

I understand the argument you are making, and it is odd how the media drive agendas etc, but this really isn't the time to have such a discussion. It doesn't do anyone any favours. People are reacting emotionally about the subject, in all manner of ways and the only thing that can result is bitter argumemt.

Is this the right time and place when the lad isn't even cold in his grave?

Disappointing this thread has had to go downhill so quickly when we had been dealing with the matter with the class that Liverpool fans are famous for worldwide

I dont see that in his comments, I see a poor grieving dad, 'overwhelmed' with a bunch of hangers-on gate crashing his grieving process for their own purposes. What's he supposed to do, come out and say 'dont do it'?

It's like everyone getting realy upset when Diana died. Mass hysteria and the commercialisation of grief. Parry is a wally and should have represented LFC's condolences in a low key way. This realy aint going to do **** for the parents except make them cry again on national TV and make everyone else feel better. If we/EFC/Council/Government/Residents want to respect this poor lad, want to fight the ****-wits that did this to him and the wrongs in society that lead to this type of thing (Gun/gang culture - there will always be tragedies) then all power to them and my full support and donations.

We'll see tomorrow how much this helps the family and what, if anything is changed by this event, except for a bunch of strangers feeling somewhat pleased with themselves!

Not a lecture mate just an opinion. But saying a tribute should be kept to the team he supported is by its very nature divisive. That is, you have have drawn a line between where you believe such a tribute should take place. There, then, is the divide. You are entitled to remain on your side of the line. I, however do not recognise the divide. Keep up the good work on challanging the lack of dignity though.

Your confusing my non-support of this .. response .. with an imagined indifference to his loss and his families pain, that couldn't be further from the truth !!

Though perhaps Operation is correct and this is not the time and place, so I shall bow out of this thread for a day or two.
