Seriously Fredo, there you go again!

You make a claim, you're asked to prove it, you can't and then you challenge Speedy to prove it even though he's the one that challenged you in the first place!!

Unbelievable. You're really embarrassing yourself now.

I think religious is a load of bull, pointless and stupid but I'll tenaciously defend one's right to practice it. Tolerance is more important than everything else in a healthy society and just because one may value something more than the other doesn't mean everyone else has to do the same.

He should have deferred his fast.
      And what if he can't?

I don't see why he gets treated differently for his beliefs isn't that what the whole world is trying to avoid people being treated differently for their beliefs it has to work both ways.

Now I'm waiting for all these religious fanatics disputing these.

Well, instead of resorting to petty insults, why don't you offer some balanced arguments to the debate ? You haven't been able to do that today, why don't you try to get your intellect working, could be a good start.

People should be respected equally for their beliefs. If a Muslim has a problem with drinking alcohol, you don't force him to do it. If a Jewish has to pay his respects for the most holy day in his religion, you also have to respect that. If a guy doesn't give a **** about religion, you shouldn't force him to take part in it.

You're right but why should the club pay the consequences (or any organization for that matter) when it's something specific to that person and not to the institution / organization ?

The club signed Benayoun knowing he was Jewish. If they had a big problem with that they could have signed someone else. I don't see it any different than signing an African player, knowing he'll be unavailable during the African nation's cup due to his commitment to his country.

Why is that okay but commitment to religion isn't okay?

Fair play mate, I agree with you to an extent, but when religion is the least tolerant force in the world, then what exactly are you defending?

The right for Muslim parents cut off the clitoris? Maybe Jewish parents for the right to remove the foreskin? Or the right of Christians to murder Dr's at abortion clinics? The right for Catholics to continue swapping billions of dollars for a play with little seamus' todger?

The right of all of them to infringe mine and every reasoned persons liberty with the 2000 years of holy wars (of one kind or another) that have raged across this planet, and do so today with almost apocolyptic vigour?
                        Gillett and Hicks are cunts

This is my quote earlier in the thread:

No one should interfere with another man's beliefs, unless that man believes he should hurt you

Commitment to religion is okay until it doesn't piss off on other people's shoes.
