I guess you have no idea how important this day is to us, if you don't know much about the religion.
Hey Steve, this is true mate but I do know how some people get with religion I'm not particularly religious but would always be respectful in any area deemed to be holy ground and show respect to people who do have their own faith.

However I just can't get past people getting special treatment for it, IMO it's not right and it's not fair on others.

What if all the Catholic/Protestant players said na we're not playing any Sunday games - keep holy the sabbath and all that. It's unlikely to happen but if you make allowances for one you have to do it across the board.
As has been said Religion is a personal thing and should be kept as such.
He could've shown his respect in other ways for the day.

Anyway you must be starving go and have some food.

I'll think you'll find he has. Rafa was spotted standing on the Fiveways roundabout at Childwall from Friday lunchtime with his collecting tin accepting all contributions.

That's the whole point, isn't it.

Religion is a personal thing so if the players religion interferes so much with liverpool's plans, Rafa can go **** right off and pay Dibril Cisse to play in right wing instead.

can't imagine Real MAdrid having told Zidane to F off though..

It's crazy, most of the people on here slag Yossi off because 'he's simply not good enough', and 'get him off the pitch, he's useless' yet are happy to argue that once he'd be certain not to start, they start giving it the all-PC 'Oh, he dare he!' and 'We need him on the pitch badly!'

Religion should be practiced at home, that's an irrefutable fact. They should also respect people not having anything to do with it and who don't believe in them. He's working for LFC, and there's a match today ... He should have deferred his fast.

I really hope that was a joke, cos if not that's one of the most moronic things I've ever read on here. Tell you what, lets rearrange Christmas, when do you fancy having it Fredo?

He should be left out for the next few games, he's a professional footballer

Why is that okay but commitment to religion isn't okay?
Great point in a thread full of some utter drivel

                              It is indeed.

Although if it was the day of the CL final, who knows what he would do. Fact is it wasnt, it was against Birmingham City at home. Besides, if he played everyone on here wouldve been moaning about Rafa rotating to much. Everyone is carrying on like he is a world beater.
