Spot on. We had Gerrard, Carra and Torres playing tonight and none of them played well.

Must be a figure with many corners then.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Thats one point of view I suppose. But you did seem to imply that there was some method in the madness and there was a purpose to losing the game or failing to address a problem he himself identified from the dugout. Which is something else entirely.

Dida's a gob****e. The guy never touched him. He should be ashamed of himself.

Alot of our "Supporters" remind me of this guy.

There`s still 12 points to play for,6 of them against Besiktas.

I`ll panic if we don`t get 6 points against the Turks and if Fifa awards Marsaille and Porto 6 points each after they have played each other twice!!!!!!

Someone (DS) made a schoolboy error earlier in the thread and the error keeps getting repeated. There's nowt wrong with the quoting mechanism itself

Tonight's game makes that ludicrous post from AFII after the last CL game, about it being good news that Pennant was banned even more insane.

We were crying out for Pennant hugging the touchline. No width whatsoever with the full backs scared to push on because the wide men had gone orienteering inside.

I'm not going to slag Benayoun off but he doesn't make a winger for me (I think Red Al made the same point pre-season). Leto on the other side was worse in fact but I'm not sure Babel would have fared any better in that formation.

Momo was ****ing awful - he was even playing the attacking midfield role in the first half with Gerrard as the holding player, which was absolutely ridiculous. Christ - he should never play with Gerrard again in the middle - the combo is like oil and water.

Sami's distribution was as per normal. Poor. Even Carra was below par tonight.

Whatever anyone says, we are missing the Hansen-like play of Agger and Alonso's composure, passing and vision in the middle.

A bad managerial pick tonight from Rafa. I think the UEFA cup beckons after that.

I wouldn't mind if we get knocked out of the competition, we could then concentrate on the league. Remember two years ago, when we were knocked out against Benfica and we were the strongest I have seen us in a long long time. The Scum and Ronaldo have said the Champions League is what they want and it will only be amount of time till Arsenal get bullied and feel cold when they go up north and Chelsea will have their players go to African Nations. It could be a blessing in disguise.
