Wrong. What you must ALWAYS do is put the club above any member of staff....

          [QUOTE=looprevil;741688]
It is obvious to me that there is a serious problem in their relationship, and that there has been since the very start.

Not sure I would agree with this.
I think that Rafa does not give special attention to anyone in the squad, obviously apart from coaching matters.
I would guess from reading Stevie's book, seeing that docu on sky1, hearing stories, seeing him on the pitch and the fact that he rarely seems happy, he may be a touch of a prima donna/diva or suffer from mr liverpoolitis.
I do think he is a special player, potentially one of the best in the world, and am dead proud of him being our local captain.
I can see a place for both at our club, especially if we have a successful league campaign this season.
Referee Lubos Michel said: “If my assistant referee had not signalled a goal, I would have given a penalty, and sent off goalkeeper Petr Cech.”

We can sign another player or two instead of Gerrard for that kind of money but who would be able to replace Rafa?
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Gerrard in the centre was a mistake on Saturday, it would have been so much better had he started on the right

Rafa on the other hand has started to bamboozle me, however the substitution of Gerrard was brilliant a nice kick up the backside for our captain.

I'd go with Gerrard, but Rafa is trying my patience.
People need to decide if SG played on the right or in the centre against Everton. If he started in the centre (which is what Rafa said in the pre match interview) then he needn't carry the blame that some assigned to him for Finnan being so isolated.

I don't believe that Gerrard believes he's more important than he is. I think that's just another example of people slagging him off without evidence.

I wish people would simply assess his form. Personally, I'd give him a slap on the back and a "thanks mate" for the derby match.

I can't see Benitez bringing the title to us. I think we'd have a (slightly) better chance with Gerrard in the team and playing under a different manager/ethos.

At the moment it feels a bit like Hobsons choice....but I'd keep Gerrard.

                        Frank.
                        Francis.

...."Any team that concedes as few goals as we concede is going to be tough to play against..." - Fernando Torres on Liverpool

And when I say 'play Gerrard on the left', I mean on the left

                        A defensive mid for £18m?

It's getting to me this constant sniping at everyone and everything. I've been trying to stay in the Non-LFC forum and the General ones but finally I cracked and said what I feel about this one.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Speaking personally Neil, I hope I've only ever expressed a view and never had a pop at anyone personally.

My view may be on the skeptical side, but I've never stooped to sniping at anyone as far as I can recall.

In fact, I tend to intervene and call for a bit of order when it does happen.

It wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, Alun, and of course everyone is perfectly entitled to say what they think about anything.

Personally however I find it fruitless and it's all spoiling my enjoyment of the board. I think some of the criticism is baseless and a lot of it is repetitive.

By the way you did slag me off for having Alzheimer's but that was justified.
