I wasn't slagging you off - just making an observation

Virtually all analysis of everything is fruitless really Neil, unless it is planning for action or capable of leading to action in some way or other ie unless it is capable of bearing fruit of some sort.

As such the Liverpool FC forum by definition will almost always be fruitless. It's the nature of the beast.

I am of the same view neill. I tend to avid the Liverpool section as the views expressed, i.e the negativity, is totally out of kilter with what I hear before, during and after the match, even after allowing for the rubbish talked following several pints after the game.

The insults and jibes are ridiculous.

Fair enough but I think that discussion of itself can be enjoyable and enlighten you about the game or at least make you see something in a different light. The way the board is going of late people take disagreement as a personal affront which is getting a bit tedious.

        As usual I blame Fredo

I think we can all agree on that.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

And this thread was about what again?
Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

I completely agree with that, and have intervened on that front many times. I don't see why a difference in tactical outlook leads to personal animosity and abuse. It's the only thing I really hate about here, when that happens.

If someone thinks Rafa is a genius while mine is a more skeptical admiration, why should we hate each other.

If someone thinks Gerrard should have come off and I think it would have been more ambitious if it was Momo, is that reason for personal insults?

It'd be nice if everyone kept the tone pleasant, even when there's differences.

I'm reminded of that quote about football. Football, in the scheme of things, is pretty unimportant - but of all the unimportant things in life, its by far the most important.

Gerrard in the centre was a mistake on Saturday, it would have been so much better had he started on the right

Rafa on the other hand has started to bamboozle me, however the substitution of Gerrard was brilliant a nice kick up the backside for our captain.

I'd go with Gerrard, but Rafa is trying my patience.
Yowzaa, can't believe i said that, my excuse was i was rushing back after my break and my class was awaiting my return!

I meant to say I'd go with Rafa, but he is trying my patience!

Stupid head cold, messing with my 3 brain cells

Sure, I'd go along with that. In fact, that's why all the arguments seem so pointless.

As dww points out, it doesn't matter if it's fruitless if it's enjoyable. For me, at the moment, it's destructive, if only on a personal level.

This is getting a bit daft now

Unbeaten in the league and you are trying to debate whether the captain or manager should go...

                        WFFS ????????

And by the way Gerrards box to box burst that ended with a penalty is what makes him very special. Quite an outstanding run.

Not even the great HK can do that and according to some on here he's the bestest player in the world.

Personally I enjoy them until they get nasty, and then I don't.

I often read things that make me think again or see something a bit differently, just as I read things which only cement my view.

And that's what I enjoy about discussion - helping me form a view on the world.

It's only when it gets all playground that I get disappointed.

                          I blame the mods

I chose to keep Stevie. Rafa's tactics are baffling at times and I think we'd stand a better chance of winning the league with Stevie than with Rafa's tactical decisions. His rotation policy is bordering the absurd (yes i've read Manure's and Chavski's stats as well before anyone brings them up) and any player who can't be up for playing twice a week all season (barring injuries) shouldn't be picking up his wages. Rafa in my opinion is too stubborn for his own (and the teams) good and losing Pako will come back to haunt us next May.

                              Let the stoning commence.
