If we could bring in only one player, I'd bring a true #10 to play in the kuyt role. We'd need to change the way we play. The one up top would need to be the one holding up the ball and the wingers would need to get more advanced, but that's the only way I can see us scoring many more goals without a complete overhaul.

The exact players, not sure, but I'm sure AFII has a few ideas.

Would cost around £22m if Cheillini moves to us and Sissoko to Juve.

If you add a class winger then it would probably be around £40m and that is probably to much if we don't sell Riise and Crouch.
haha i can't believe I just read "realistically" and then "Aguero" straight after eachother, I can't think of many players which are more unrealistic. Especially in Jan.

Boro might be his hometown club, but he can't possibly be enjoying himself there and as a consequence of playing in a ****, struggling side, he's lost his place in the England set-up.

We desperately need another top class centre back and Woodgate is a top class centre-back. He's been injury-free for a while now and, IMO, we should make him a priority in January.
that's a very good shout - I was thinking that on Saturday lunchtime when i was watching Soccer Saturday.

          Why?

He is a Liverpool fan and we would have Garcia telling him how great we are.

I can't see it being that unrealistic if Rafa want him.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

What's his release clause at? He's said his very happy at Atleti atm. We'd have to pretty much meet his release clause to have a bid accepted they wouldn't be keen to let him go.

Lets just say how many times do we pay over 20m for players, it's just not happening. I'd buy you a box if we signed Kun in the next 2 years.

              £22m.

Rafa wanted him before he moved to Atletico but he didn't had the money to compete with them back then.

Do you have a [credible] source which confirms it to be at 22m?

Ah, you're right I just found this and had a skim through it.

Atleti own 90% of kun for USD19m the overall deal of the transfer was worth USD28m somehow with the add ons and there's something about Independiente's 10% of him worth a minimum of 3.6m euros and his release clause at 36m euros.

I think that's what it says anyhow, my Spanish is average but the release clause is definitely at 36m euros.

                    STILL, we won't sign him.
