I only put Lennon there because he's a young English talent and would fit perfectly in a 4-3-3 with Babel like what we played today.

    As for Diego why not?
Richards-money talks and yesterdays events were one in a million for City. City are going to get bigger and better. Being from the academy and possible future captain for City, he would want to be part of that

Lennon- hasn't played a lot this season. Gives a lot of pace but lacks end product

Diego- decent signing, couldn't see it happening. Not Rafa's type of player. He's too intelligent of a second striker. We have Kuyt and Voronin

We have holes in our starting XI, anyone can see that.

I think that Rafa must sign a central defender, one winger and one very creative second striker in January if we will have a chance to win the title.

      I totally agree.

It depends upon who is available and at what price though.

We can't just drop into any club and say we'll have him, him and him Thanks.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rafa makes a move for him. He has tried before but didn't had the money to sign him.
I would move heaven and earth to sign Aguero, he is the closest player left in world football in the Rooney Teves mould, which IMO would be a dream partnership with Torres. £22m is a bargain for the lad.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I understand your point which are valikd but my thoughts on Richards had NOTHING at all to do with yesterday anda club like Liverpool should be able to sign a player like Richards away from ANY club except about 5 or 6 in all of Europe.

As for Lennon and Diego that's just a difference of opinion between you and I in relation to their qualities.

I don't think the Aguero/Torres partnership was particulary great at Athletico so I wouldn't want to reprise that especially if it would take £20million plus to get him.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

You can add that he is a Liverpool supporter and that Garcia would tell him how great place Liverpool is.

I don't think he would turn us down but that's my opinion.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

He can't be any worse than the ones who are playing now. The negative about that is that he is still young and his body may not cope playing to much.
Insua CANNOT be any worse than that hopeless cretin Riise. I don't mean to be disrespectful to the lad, cos he's been a good servant, but he is ****ing ****. I've seen Insua for the stiffs a few times this season and he looks good. I wish Rafa would give him a chance.

I don't think we are the kind of club now that has actually spent big on defenders. We have spent big on offensive players rather than defensive ones.

Off the top of my head, isn't Agger the record signing for a defender?

Riise's technique is very lacking for a top level player, he cant just rely upon hitting blockbuster shots every so often, even those have been missing in recent months.
Why not give Insua a game, if he supposed to be so **** hot then he needs to get some game time. Look at Walcott, Wenger eased him him over the past year and now seems to be really taking to the top level.

there's a carling cup match coming up, i'd have said Arbeloa would play at LB but I really think Finnan looks ****ed and could do with a rest, he's really not been on form this last week, so Arbeloa at RB for a game or two I think. Aurelio is due back any time now, but i'm not sure thats much of a step up from Riise as far as LB is concerned

yeah, it is. I know it'd never happen but if we're splashing out on a defender I wouldn't mind seeing Naldo here.

He need to play games in the league to take the next step, not week in week out but need to get games.

Throw Insua, Lucas and Leto in against Cardiff and see how they go. I'd much prefer to give all three of them a go if they do instead of playing Voronin or Riise in the next league game.

I'd also give Babel a run with Crouch up front as he might actually know where the goal is. The current strikers don't have a clue where it is.

I think the likes of Spearing/Insua/Hobbs might get a game in this one as Cardiff aren't a prem team, which is always good to see

We should be able to attract any player in the world, no doubt about that. We have great fans who will demand quality and appreciate man of the match style performances. Richards is still very raw however if we wanted to sign him, I think Rafa has to get at least £20 million for him, he is 19/20, loads of years ahead of him, very versatile and he is English which might be a factor if the quota system comes into play.
