I'm not judging him on his goals though.

To be honest he's scored about 1 every 4 games which is what I expected from him.

What I really don't like though is the rest of his game, actually include his finishing in that, he just isn't clinical either.

Poor technical player, slow, not dominant in the air, and inaccurate passing is what we paid £10m quid for.

Actually it's scary if you think about it. That Rafa thought he was good enough and then paid £10m for him.

10M gets you an average striker these days unless you unearth a gem.
Some poor team will pay us 10M for Crouch for example.
The top sides pay top dollar for attackers as we found out with Torres.
You could argue a load of cases like Villa to Valencia for 8M etc but more often than not you pay for what you get.

£10m still can buy you a very good striker and to try to justify Kuyt's performances by saying £10m doesn't buy you much is a nonsense.

The truth is that Kuyt just isn't good enough to warrant anything like a £10m fee. He wroks hard and thats about it. He has no pace, isn't great in the air, isn't technically gifted and is a modest finisher. In a nutshell as a premier league striker he is very average.

I really don't wanna stick the boot in when the lad hasn't even played, but we really do look a much better attacking outfit when he doesn't play. Crouch retains possession sooooooo much better than Dirk and the movement around Crouch as the 'pivot', as it were, is always so good. Gerrard clearly enjoys playing with him.

He's slipped to 4th choice IMO and it should stay that way while we're playing well and winning.
