Pay me 40 grand a week to chase a football about and I'll take all the abuse CMS can throw at me and still have a smile on my face.

Criticism comes with the territory IMO. They're big lads, they can take criticism when they're not pulling their weight.

if you would take offence as i presume you and any normal person would then it has affected you on a personal level

your obviously not going to realise the error of your ways , this will be my last post in this thread
To be honest I've been called a lot worse than that in my life and accepted it as criticism.

Perhaps I've got a thicker skin than most.

You can say what you like about me on here if you like, slag me off all you like, it's only the net. Christ what am I saying, you don't need my permission do you?

And I reserve the right to criticize Kuyt's performances on here. Regardless of the language used. As I said I'm not criticizing him as a person. Still think you're missing the point.

I think the point you're missing is you don't have to criticise him as a person to disrespect him as a person. And we all know "he's ****ing ****" isn't really true about any Premiership player, it's just said for effect. In the heat of the moment calling someone ****, yeah, who hasn't done that, all the time. Long after the dust has settled regularly coming out with different ways of mocking him isn't necessary to get your point across, and is disrespectful.

It's not about being thick skinned, it's just about being able to discern between criticising someone honestly and hanging them out to dry heaping the maximum humiliation possible on them like you couldn't give a **** as long as they **** off. One makes sense for players you respect, the other only makes sense for players you revile.

I feel sorry for the guy. I really do. Nothing he does this season seems to be effective and he's been a passenger at times.

I hope he can find some form soon.

I watched a replay of the 6-0 Derby game from earlier this season and Kuyt showed some flashes that reminded me he can play.

He has been shocking lately and may never be good enough for Liverpool but despite his form, he does have have ability.

At worst, he is a saleable asset. We won't have to worry about finding a buyer, if it comes to that.

              Yes, but at what price?

I'll bet that he goes for a significant loss, and for a player of his age, its one poor bit of business.

I agree. But I hope we can find a buyer. I really like the fella personally but he's simply an expensive version of Eric Meijer.

We've had some really odd strikers haven't we?

Baros-head down, run in straight lines.
Cisse- head down and blast it
                  Kuyt- workhorse with no confidence.
El Moro- class player who couldn't cut it in the premiership
Crouch- tallest ****er in the league but can't head a ball
                  Bellamy- liability off field

An odd set of players and I haven't mentioned Pongo or the Crow.
                  Thankfully we've got Torres

                    Agreed.

But some people are talking like he is barely Premiership quality and worth nothing.

He obviously has some ability but I think he's f*cked any chance of getting another team in the prem. We'll get no more than £5m IMO.

If Juve are interested in Momo, I don't see any reason why Premiership clubs pushing for Europe wouldn't be interested in Kuyt.

But yeah, maybe for only £5-6 million.

There are a few teams who would look at Kuyt as a "sleeping giant" IMO. You can't take his record in Holland away from him.

Teams like Boro, Bolton, Wigan, Sunderland, Derby would all take a punt on Kuyt coming good, but I agree, the best chance we have is that a Dutch club might want him like Feyenoord, PSV or Ajax.

Leagues in Europe have different demands with less reliance on pace and more emphasis on technique and I don't see another prem club coming in for him on that basis.

For £5 or £6M you'd be looking at a struggling club, and they'll be needing a goal scorer and Dirk ain't that (in this league).

                              You think so?

Let's look at what kind of marketplace there would be for him amoungst Premier League clubs:

                              Arsenal; Yeah right
                              Villa; Wouldn't take him
Birmingham; Wouldn't be an upgrade for them
                              Blackurn; No chance
Bolton; Maybe, he'd fit in there with their style of play
                              Chelsea; No Chance
                              Derby; They'd have him
                              Bitters; Nope
                              Fulham; Would probably take him
                              Man City; Nope
                              Scum;
Boro; Would take him, he'd fit in with their non scoring forwards
                              Toon; Nope
                              Portsmouth; Nope
                              Reading; Nope
                              Sunderland; Possibly
                              Spurs; Nope
                              West Ham; Nope
                              Wigan; Nope

So 2 clubs who he'd walk straight into, both of which are in relegation trouble, and another 3 possibles, all near the relegation places. Not exactly a thriving market, in this country at least.

Let's hope he scores a few between now and the end of the season, we need him to, then we need to sell him for as much as possible.

if i was a betting man i would place a large wager on the following:
                                - kuyt will not be in the top 10 goalscorers in the prem this season
                                - Kuyt will not be in the top 10 assists in the prem this season
                                - Kuyt will not beat a single defender with a piece of skill, guile or speed for the remainder of this season
                                - kuyt will be sold at a loss in the summer
                                - not one person on here will protest at the sale of kuyt

My opinion on kuyt are fairly transparent. If we could offload the poor excuse of a footballer tomorrow it would be 18 months too late. Kuyt is Rafa's folly. I think playing him ahead of Crouch was on of the reasons we lost in Athens. Honestly, as a striker he offers us nothing.

Criticising poor footballers on an internet forum does not make anyone a lesser fan.
