Let's look at what kind of marketplace there would be for him amoungst Premier League clubs:

Villa; Wouldn't take him
Birmingham; Wouldn't be an upgrade for them
Blackurn; No chance
Bolton; Maybe, he'd fit in there with their style of play
Chelsea; No Chance
Derby; They'd have him
Bitters; Nope
Fulham; Would probably take him

Boro; Would take him, he'd fit in with their non scoring forwards

So 2 clubs who he'd walk straight into, both of which are in relegation trouble, and another 3 possibles, all near the relegation places. Not exactly a thriving market, in this country at least.

Let's hope he scores a few between now and the end of the season, we need him to, then we need to sell him for as much as possible.

You say that, but having watched LFC tv tonight where they were reviewing our best goals of 2007, I reckon Kuyt on last season's form would probably be taken by at least half of those teams on your list

Leagues in Europe have different demands with less reliance on pace and more emphasis on technique and I don't see another prem club coming in for him on that basis.

For £5 or £6M you'd be looking at a struggling club, and they'll be needing a goal scorer and Dirk ain't that (in this league).

It's difficult to stay objective when a player is ****ing your club's **** up every week.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if O'Neill, Redknapp or Curbishley fancied their chances getting the best out of Dirk.

I would guess there'd be most interest from Germany if he became available.

Kuyt is better than Cisse IMO. Judging him on his form last season he'd easily get another Premiership club, and we'd have probably got £5-6m for him. The dutch do still rate him very highly so that's an option. If he rediscovers last season's form we'd have no probs finding a buyer, and we'd prob get more than half of what we paid for him, IMO.

I think it is splitting hairs to dispute who the worst player is between Heskey, Baros, Cisse, Bellamy or Kuyt.

The fact is that all arrived as established international strikers, none of them performed (or are performing) for us, and they all left (except Kuyt) for a semi-respectable fee, 3 to other Premiership sides.

Why on earth would Kuyt be different?

Let's get a little perspective. Dirk isn't Liverpool standard but he is a lot better than his current form. You only have to watch a couple of his performances from last season to remember that.
