    He found Owen and Gerrard.

Two of the wrong facts that Houllier pointed out time and time again.
Owen made his debut under Uncle Roy

Gerrard came through the system, Houllier gave him his chance.

I may have worded it wrong

However, it was you who said Gerrard was Mr Team and went along with Houllier being egotistical, where as facts point to plenty of others being far more egotistical yet it isnt used as a stick to beat them with so why Houllier?

And given you voted for Roy Evans who won one League Cup, compared to Houllier who won, well I let you reel off what he won you should just be quiet now. Oh and for anyone who claims we went ****e after the treble, do they not remember the season after? 2nd in the league and QF of the European Cup at our first attempt wasnt it? Not bad I seem to remember.

We all know it went tits up toward the end, no one can defend that, but come on, Everyone on here to a man loved Houllier for a few years. He gave us back our pride in being a red after 10 years of ****e and nearlys. Its wrong to focus on his fall and rob him of what he did for us.

        I voted King Kenny.

Houllier is a difficult one. He did well to get our pride back and won us some trophies. But people are always going to go back to the fact that he messed up in the European Cup against Leverkusen when he took off Didi and then the pap he bought like Diouf, Diao and Cheyrou

Can't argue with the great job he did. Also can't argue with how he ****ed it up towards the end either. But he deserves credit.

First of all Mr Glove i like your style, siding with the Mrs gets you good points

Secondly Houllier's reign turned the night he substituted Hamann for Vladi Smicer in the QF away leg vs. Bayer Leverkusen.
          We come not to play.

That was a very strange decision but I remember reading Thommo's book where he tried to explain the decision and being very surprised at the reasoning (can't remember it at the moment - but will have a look at home later).

TBH, that game in the Bay Arena was an odd one. We would have been out of sight had Owen taken his chances and Gerrard's defending for the Ballack goal was Derby-esque in quality. I knew it was going to be one to remember once Xavier got on the scoresheet.

Totally irelevant as the thread is about favourite manager, not best manager. Not even I would claim that Evans was our best manager ever!
Still can't believe Fagan hasn't got a vote!

Voted for Benitez, started supporting Liverpool just after Kenny had left. Was still very young and cant remember watching to much of Liverpool under Souness thankfully, did like the team Evans built but picked Rafa due to the glorious European nights he has gave us. The amount of days annual leave Rafa has cost me due to mid week drinking is stupid

I plumped for Paisley, mostly because he was our manager when I fell in love with the club growing up. What's not to love about Bob Paisley ? He was humble and yet the players had the height of respect for him, he was one of the best managers the game has ever seen, and he oversaw an unprecendented period of Liverpool dominance in the game.

                  Who voted for Souness ?

Can I just say that if I was to vote again I would vote for Joe Fagan. His stay was short and ended in tragedy but he was a great manager.

Houlliers reign did have my favourite chant of recent years:

'Hou let the reds out!! HOU HOU HOU Hou let the reds out!!'
