i've had knee ops and afterwards even though the physio says' your OK you don't want to run or do anything that might involve a twist untill your 100% confident. And the slightest reaction or feeling makes you think its comming back.
And who's to say his different training is not part of his rehab.

No probs. I have a fairly good idea of them anyway, just not how debilitating they are hence why I was hoping for more info. It would be good to get it out so some of his bashers had a better understanding.

At the end of the world cup he contracted Septic Arthritis (between his toes, i think). This was first thought to be gout due to the pain he was in but when it didn't respond to Antibiotics it was correctly diagnosed as Septic Arthritis a few days later back in Liverpool.

Don't know much about it other than it is not meant to be very pleasant at all (read extremely painful). I have read that if not diagnosed in time it can lead to amputation!! I have also read that it is likely that he got this infection from repeated injections. These last 2 points are pretty much speculation, some one might be better informed than me on that and can confirm or deny.

Harry Kewell has been challenged to prove he is worth another Liverpool contract after finally making his first appearance of the season.

The 29-year-old's injury-ravaged Anfield career appeared to be in its final few months, following disquiet behind the scenes over a minimal return for a £70,000-a-week contract that runs out next summer.

A series of fitness problems have restricted his availability over the past two-and-a-half years and looked certain to lead to his release on a free transfer next summer.

But after shaking off troublesome foot and ankle injuries and going on as a substitute in Wednesday's 2-1 Carling Cup win over Cardiff, the £5million signing from Leeds could yet be on course for a new deal.

Liverpool would want to safeguard themselves against any further injury disruption, and a renewed contract could be on reduced terms or a pay-as-you-play basis.

Rafa Benitez is still prepared to offer the Australia winger the inducement of an extended Anfield stay, though.

The manager said: "He had 45 minutes with the reserves and has now added some time out in the middle with the first team, and to see him playing so well was really good.

"We were creating chances when he was on the pitch and that showed how he was contributing.

"You need to be 100 per cent every time you play and that has been difficult for Harry when he has sometimes been out for eight or 10 months.

"He is working with the physios and doing the right things. He must try to stay as fit as possible for the next few games.

Broken bones are career threatening, certain joint injuries are career threatening, degenerative diseases are career threatening.

Well whatever, he's had a few very, very nasty injuries in the past and bounced back that's all i'm saying.

I am not certain but I think he is on 60k/week. However he received a signing on fee of 2M which I think he agreed to receive over the length of his contract. So he would receive about 67,700/week if this was correct.

If you remember when we signed him it was initially 7m, then became 5m. This reduction i presume was the signing on fee being absorbed intoi his wages.

Thats my guess anyway.
