Whenever I've seen him he's been akward in the tackle, poor positionally and ineffective going forward. At CB whenever I've seen him he's looked very clumsy.

I can't say I've ever been that impressed with him. He's just one of these flavour of the month guys who everybody thinks is good because enough people have jumped on the bandwagon and said so.

This is just my opinion ofcourse but I can't say that he's the sort of player that I think we need.

If he was that good why did none of the clubs linked to him pursue their interest in the summer when he was apparently available?

It's players like Aguero and Garay we should be after. Players that will make a difference.

If you want to win the title then it will cost a lot of money to do it. What about Arsenal then? They will have to spend on quality cover for Fabregas and Toure or they will suffer later on.

Fabregas already look tired and it's not even December yet and he need to play in every league game.

He played in Serie B last season so no one could really know how good he would be back in Serie A.

He has been excellent this season.

Nonsense. If you're good you're good in any league. The fact that no one was willing to pay for him in the summer speaks volumes. People who know far more about football than you and me didn't want him.

If anyone cares, Bascombe said today that we have agreed to sign Javier for 17 million over 5 years. Also that Rafa hasn't spoke to the owners since the Arsenal game and is worried he will miss out on signing top targets and will have to sell before he can buy.
