As far as the owners go, I'm not happy. I don't see how anyone could be. They don't understand the game, and lied about how they would fund their purchase of the club. BUT, they wouldn't make their return if they were saddling the club with more debt that we are able to pay-off. Part of their business plan will rely on us staying in the top four and qualifying for the CL every year, and even they aren't dumb enough not to realise that they will need to invest in players to stay there. For them to get the maximum return they will need some level of success on the pitch. So, as much as I hate the fact that our great club has become just another investment for a couple of bug business arseholes, our interests coincide and I don't think things will be as catastrophic as all that.

On the Rafa will be gone in the summer, we won't sign players and Masher is going too stuff, it's hard to know what to think without having had the info that you have. If Rafa is going no matter what happens this season, then it is totally unfair. But after 4 years at the club, it is only right that his position should be questioned if we are not seriously challenging for the league. We haven't even had that Houllier season yet under Rafa, where we came close enough to all believe that next season it would be ours. If we do not put together a decent run and challenge the leaders this year, then surely we've all got to question whether Rafa can really deliver the title?

On Mascher, I think it would be a big mistake to allow him to leave. But on the other hand, even I raised an eyebrow when I saw that a deal had been agreed for £17m. Lucas looks like a great prospect, we already have Gerrard and Alonso in the middle, and £17m for a defensive midfielder who offers nothing going forward seems steep to me. Maybe the owners think that £17m would be better spent on another striker and a winger?

I don't know - I'm not happy with the owners, I want Mascher and Rafa to stay, and I obviously want Rafa to be backed in the transfer market. I suppose all I'm saying is that there is always another way of looking at things, and things might not be as bad as they seem based on the noises coming out of Anfield at the moment. We'll find out soon enough though - if we don't get a centre back in January then that's as clear a signal as anyone could need that things aren't right.
    Now there's a reasonable post

There are a lot of contradictory messages in the press at the moment. Rafa apparently happy to sign a new deal (could be calling their bluff I suppose) and looking to buy two new defenders.

The thing is (and this is the only part where I don't agree entirely with Kaip) is that after 4 years at the club, I don't think Rafa's position should be questioned. All dynasties (and I can very well assume this is what Rafa ultimately wants to build - if all were going to plan ie. no interference) take a while to build, because they're built in little steps, with steady progress. However when those foundations have been built and tweaked properly, bit by bit, then I believe that those foundations cannot be rocked for a very long time, us in the 80s, Scum in the 90s, Arsenal in the 90s as well.

If you want to build a dynasty (and I'm sure Rafa will make this clear, he's said it before that he and especially Montse and the kids would want to stay a long time in Liverpool) then you need to have a little bit of patience. It's not like we've not won any significant trophies since Rafa's been here. It's not like we haven't seen his genius.

So if Rafa were to be sacked, the amount of money that would be lost in compensation and getting a new manager on board, having to relay the groundworks and buying in lots of new players the new manager would want would 'put us back to the drawing board'.

And I believe Rafa will be here and everything will sort itself out, one way or the other with compromises here and there. I think Rafa loves this club, the city and its people too much to let a quaffle with the owners get in the way of that. 'Yea but but but but he did it at Valencia' - totally different scenario, totally different setup.

What surprises me most in all this mess is that Moores could sell the club to someone that didn't have any done and dusted plans for the news stadium, how it will look and how they will pay for it.

Moores could have stayed himself as it looks now, he could have taken the same sort of loans to pay for the stadium, so nothing have really changed.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Yes, but the FACT of the matter is he hasn't, he's gone. Get over it and deal with the present times.

Rafa loved Valencia and the city to bits but he still left. That won't stop him from leaving. If he can't get it his way, then he will leave IMO.
