Sorry to hear you only rate Ms Magdalene's qualities with the dubious 'pleasure' of telling someone to stop being abusive on a forum, never the less, keep to the topic and quit the abuse please. Oh and this is the internet so stop trying to look cool, ok 'blood'?Originally posted by Jesus View PostI wish I had the power of an internet moderator. Not sure why it's incumbent on us in particular to help them out just because we happen to be playing them. Every other team playing in the Cup this weekend is taking their full share of gate receipts for their matches, but because we're playing Luton we should be expected to give ours up? Doesn't seem fair or right to me. Luton should be grateful that because they're facing Liverpool they'll be getting extra gate receipts from filling the ground plus the TV revenue from the game being televised. Asking if Liverpool are willing to donate their gates to the Luton cuase is a bit cheeky but I can understand why they did, but then announcing publically that we've turned them down is bang out of lineWhite liquid in a bottle = Milk

Mad as a HatterOriginally posted by checkpoint View PostThe aquaduct? And sanitation. And the roads.
But apart from the sanitation, the aqueduct, and the roads...
Apparently the phrase "Mad as a Hatter" came from Luton. The hat workers were exposed to Mercury, making them a little crazy!
Arthur Hailey
Arthur Hailey. The author of famous novels Airport, Hotel, Wheels and The Money Changers was born in Luton in 1920. However his birthplace is often confused with Luton village in Devon! At a young age he moved to Canada until forced to leave for the Bahamas due to extortionate Canadian income tax.
Jethro Tull
Mick Abrahams of Jethro Tull was born in Luton in 1943, infact the band itself was formed in Luton
Paul Young
Paul Young the musician was born in Luton!
Paul Young's first job was at Luton's Vauxhall Motors plant and it was this car firm that funded his first band. And that's not all Paul has to thank Luton for, because he has lots of memories from a happy childhood there. - BBC
Charles Bronson
Charles Bronson One of the UK's most notorious prisoners (Not the American Actor) was born in Luton in 1952
And...wait for it....
Kajagoogoo
Kajagoogoo (the eighties band) were formed in Leighton Buzzard!

I really think this is a matter for Lutons management and not LFC. As far as I know, we don't have any special relations with them, so it can't be our responsibility. That Luton have incompetent management, can not and should not be LFC or any other clubs concern. When a professional football club can't set their expenses lower than their income, they will go bankrupt - like any other professionally run business. If they do so, another club will come in and take their place - simple as.
Don't see why they should recieve any special treatment from us - learn how to run a business or risk bankruptcy, like any other part of the world.

in the bigger scheme of things, forgoing a payday wouldent be the be all and end all for our club and whether we like it or not we must continue to carry this great club forward and do things the liverpool way, even it if hits us in the pocket a little bit.

I think Jesus is really the Pope. The above is a total rip off from the statement released by the Vatican after they were questioned about not helping the Jews when the Germans took over Rome in 39/40.Originally posted by Jesus View PostAm I missing something here?
We're being made out to be villains and we've done nothing wrong. The media just never miss a chance for a dig do they?
**** them.
We don't owe Luton anything, they should look closer to home to see why they're in this mess.
I might have a had a bit of sympathy with their plight before they started bleating to them media, but now they can **** off.
Ask Wrexham if we're uncharitable.
We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

Thats utter bollox mate. This stuff about the 'liverpool way'? when did that ever mean giving handouts to clubs with corrupt owners? It's all very well for the manager to mention trainees on £175 a week, but i'm guessing that the average wage of a first team squad player is still well in excess of my palrty take-home pay, so it has to be put in perspective. And theres the fairness issue. We give a club our share of the takings, then we beat them and draw another club in trouble in the next round, so they cry poverty and so it goes on. What about clubs in crisis we dont play, those competing with Luton? Seems that any excuse to say something negative about LFC is siezed upon by some.Originally posted by Liverta 78 View PostI have to say I'm sorry we are not helping out Luton on this one. As mentioned above, it really doesn't seem to be the Liverpool way I've become familiar with. It just makes me wonder what would of happened in this situation before G&H showed their faces. Have a heart and all that.

FLMAO at all the biblical references that Jesus has missed
As for Luton - not our fault we were drawn against them. We've done a hell of a lot to help Wrexham get back on their feet and that's the right way to do it.
Perhaps Luton should be getting more creative by getting London teams to play reserve matches at their ground, arranging some friendlies etc.
PS Perhaps the FA SHOULD allow teams to switch grounds for money rather than safety reasons

So you think we should give Luton Money???Originally posted by Nic83 View PostPathetic from LFC. I don't give a**** if it's not our problem, it ****ing will be if all the lower clubs in England are wiped out and talent stops coming through
Should all the other clubs??
Should we give money to every club in trouble???
Should Luton have moved the game to Anfield for bigger revenue????
