I went to that match - only to find it was postponed because Luton couldn't get there due to the snow. What annoyed me is that I was talking to some of their fans before the match who'd obviously managed to make the trip. They were not best pleased either.

I'm not sure about cash handouts - but we could loan them players etc which would help reduce their wage bill. Just a thought.

The Supporters of LFC doing something sounds like a good idea, but on the other hand there are much more worthy causes that us fans could help than making sure the Luton players get their wages.

That could be a decent idea, mate.

I think the main problem here is that Luton have come out and directly asked for our share of the gate receipts. If they'd not been so flippin cheeky they might have got summat after the game. Not likely they'll get owt now they've slagged us off to the papers.

....and as mentioned several times already it's not our fault the club has been totally mismanaged and involved in dodgy dealings. Tough.

            Am I missing something here?

We're being made out to be villains and we've done nothing wrong. The media just never miss a chance for a dig do they?

            **** them.

We don't owe Luton anything, they should look closer to home to see why they're in this mess.

I might have a had a bit of sympathy with their plight before they started bleating to them media, but now they can **** off.

            Ask Wrexham if we're uncharitable.

What about the history of the game? Of course it's not LFC's responsibility to give Luton handouts, but I'm very surprised by this news.
There should be money from Sky filtering down the leagues, it's a joke the amount of money in the premiership

It isn't spot on at all. The point about big clubs helping lower league clubs is valid, but in this instance we are well within our rights to say **** off.

Chilli - That's because the top 2 leagues are run by the FA and the bottom 2 byt The Football league. This is what happened when the Prem split off in 1992. they are completely different bodies & the FA want the money to stay with them. But I agree there should be some sort of emergency fund set up by all Legaue Clubs. But clubs which are run badly shouldn't necessarily be bailed out by the others - after all these are businesses and it's a free market economy.

I think the point we need to get back to is if money meant so much to them and they wanted to double the money from this game why didn't they ask for it to be swapped to Anfield as I am sure they would have made more than double form the game that way.

                            For the SECOND time:

That is not an option anymore as the FA don't allow it. The only exception to this rule is on the grounds of legitimate safety concerns

My opinion on this is that Luton can get to ****. They should get their own house in order instead of looking for handouts.

I notice they wasn't moaning to the press about selling their full ticket allocation on the back of our name.

If Blackwell is so worried, maybe he can pay back some of his huge severance fee.
