Luton’s plea for financial help from Liverpool is turned down

Mate I think you are a little bit misguided on this one, I am all for the Liverpool Way, it is what drew me to this club in the first place and its what makes me proud to be a red. But 150 Grand is not chump change in anybodies books. Sure if Lutton were our feeder club or something perhaps. But a club which we have no real connection to or relationship with asking for 150 grand out of the blue, its no wonder they are skint.

I am all for charity, its a very big part of my life but there is charity and then there is opening a window and throwing a suitcase of cash out the window, which effectively what you would be doing here, none of the 150 grand would probably go to the players, the bank manager would have his money on that quicker than you can say all money goes to the suits.

Our club has not become some corporate monster over night and say you are ashamed of Liverpool FC for not giving Lutton our gate money is a little harsh to say the least. Next time you walk to the streets of your town, spare a moment for the poor ****ers who will be sleeping on the concrete in the rain, with no money or hope, these are the people who need a hand up not football players

Id like to hear compare charity donations compared to the other top 3 in referance to Mickey Mouse clubs like Luton.

I was "Wellhard" on 6CM and fought your corner many times.
I had 4,000 posts.I couldn`t stomach the abuse of our players from Brendoom and Cryan and sent a suicide post to Brendoom which was obviously sent on to the mods.I never had a warning and was banned the next week.

I had/have great respect for the EST versions of Livvy/FFF/Sheiky and have told Mark 197? he should post on here more often.Livvy knows me and this site needs singlerider and a "Few" others.Only problem is that i think 6 CM attracted more of the TOTAL idiots.


In Fact iv`e been an advocate in almalgulating(SP) both EST and 6CM if that dickhead Brendoom is excluded.

I rarely post on 6CM, and i am under a different name on that site. So i'm not sure how you "fought my corner". I dont think i have had a spat on 6CM with anyone. My spats stem from the koptalk free site.

I couldnt give two ****s about Luton TBH.

Sure it would be a nice gesture by the club to give them something from the game, but we are under no obligation to do so.

The mere fact that they have run to the press about it after we turned them down seems a tad babyish to me. Almost like we owe them something, and have not come through with it.

what about the poor little blue****e kid that was killed. We played their tune before the game for his parents. That was only earlier this season. Great gesture by the club that was.

As some have said Luton have had dodgy dealings, we shouldnt be going anywhere near them

The best financial option for them would have been to have the venue swoped to Anfield, this is within the rules and they would have gotten 45% of the gate from approx 45,000 people instead of 10,000. That would have given them more than they will get now.

Luton want to have the cake and eat it. Liverpool are not a registered bank or charity. The Tsunami game shows that Liverpool are not heartless but to support a club like Luton in this way is not the done thing. Personally I think Luton are pathetic even making it public.

That 'Drama Queen' and 'Dickhead' FFF does.

He also donated money to a Charity in memory of my mate's wife who died aged 39 leaving a 3 year old son when he probably couldn't afford it himself. Off point slightly I know.

Personally, I think Luton can get to **** but just because someone might think it would be an honourable gesture that may just hold onto some kind of dignity in a game ruled by corporate owners and vastly over paid players, some who earn more in a week than we do in a year yet can't kick a ball 5 yards to a teammate, they're hardly a ****ing dickhead.

But, this does highlight what has become a major problem in football, and I am not talking about Lutons mismanagement but how the top clubs totally dominate and such money out of the game while lower league clubs struggle to keep their heads above the water. That is a debate that deserves attention, not Luton looking for a handout.

The lower league clubs are now nothing more than feeder clubs until they get a rich owner. They can't really put any high prices on their young talented players either because the rich clubs know that they need the money and use that to get the price down.

There's correct ways of doing this as we've done with Wrexham - organise friendlies etc. and let them keep the money. Or if the players want to donate some of their wages they can do.

It's amazing when you think about the non-league teams, they were talking about them on 5 live last night and they are supposed to be getting stronger and going through a great time.
