Miss all the fun during the day. As I said much earlier in this thread its time for Liverpool fans to back the manager when he needs us most. No amount of carping will help the team at this time but a united front from the fans will. I couldn't care less who the next manager is going to be primarily because its a pointless exercise. We have a manager and his contract runs for at least two more seasons. Its time to put up or shut up. We don't like how things are and people have come up with varying reasons why but enough is enough.

I think the fact that this thread exists and has reached such epic proportions coupled with the booing at the end of the wigan game speaks volumes.
Rafa is too ****ing stuborn for his own good, and makes some down-right eccentric decisions.
The simple fact is Rafa needs results and Citeh, Wigan and Luton should have given him ample opportunity to get them.
We're underperforming yet the message from Rafa seems to be "more of the same". Well, sooner or later that won't be acceptable anymore.

If he goes because the powers that be decide the results aren't good enough then so be it. But we as fans should still support him until that point. We'll never all agree that he has done things right etc etc but calling for him to be sacked (not you but others) after a 1-1 draw is ridiculous. We are going through a bad patch but we've gone through much worse. The manager is up against it but he is sticking to what he regards are the right methods to achieve results. It isn't working at present but no manager has been perfect.
I've had enough of people on the internet helping to feed the hounds in the press with stupid comments etc and IMO we shouldn't be helping these *******s do the dirty on him. Let Rafa rise or fall on his own sword based on results.

I just wish he'd pick the best XI players available for every game and try to WIN games rather than try to keep a clean sheet..

Don't we all, but we have rotated before and won games comfortably and rotated and lost, played our best team and lost etc etc. Rafa does get too bogged down with tactics but I don't see any alternative in the short term. If he gets another player in the Torres mould then we really will start to have a great team. In my opinion we are still two or more top quality players off a PL winning team. We have 7 genuine first teamers and the rest are just squad players. the balance need addressing.

We do say that every year though. 2 or 3 players.

It's correct though, a striker and 1 or 2 wingers and we would be amazing.

but how many was it when Rafa joined?

                        Just SG and Carra.

Now its SG, Carra, Alonso, Masher, Reina, Torres. He's getting there but the demands on a manager these days for results are that much greater...especially when your 3 main rivals have a bit of a head start. We are playing catch up and not really getting there quick enough for everyone. It will take as I said another couple of Torres type signings to address the balance or Rafa changes his ways and the players perform out of their skins.

Would we? I happen to disagree. Sure, we'd have the potential to be amazing but the tactical eccentricity, the radical substitutions, and the incessant rotation would mean we are never consistent enough to challenge for the title. We've been amazing in several games this season, but we're not consistent because there is no competition for places and there is no continuity.

So in reality you are saying no matter who we sign in the future Rafa cannot make a PL winning team out of them?

I cant see how anyone could disagree with this. Ever.

Only if we had about 15 world class players, thus enabling Rafa to rotate but even with the lack of consistency in the team selections, the chances are that the world class players' quality would still be enough to win the games, regardless of chopping and changing.
