I think that's my point Dhavlos - we need to wait and see rather than just claiming everything is ****ed because the media says so.
Don't get me wrong, my internal alarm has moved from Defcom 5 to Defcom 4, but some people seem to have been at Defcom 1 FIRE THOSE NUKES based on what's ultimately speculation OR could have a very good reason.Quote of the year :
"With monkey me, dogface dishwasher bitch and chimp the ****ing champ you. We are turning into a raving party here arent we"

I've stated I'll be giving them the benefit of the doubt but my patience is wearing rather very very very thin. It's been one year since the investment news and apart from grandiose plans which have been shelved, we've been given plenty of air rather than substance.
Still, I'm an optimistic man and I'm confident that we'll be okay in the future.

Telegraph article on Liverpool fan & Stadium -
John Miskelly, a Northern Ireland property magnate and lifelong Liverpool supporter, tried to forge a £250 million takeover consortium last year, only to lose out to Tom Hicks and George Gillett.
Liverpool turn to fan for cash injection
Grand plans: Liverpool need extra funds if they are to begin construction of their new stadium
However, since then the club's new owners have struggled to put together a £300m refinancing package and come up with the cash needed to build a new state-of-the-art stadium at Stanley Park.
The Mirror reports that due to the world-wide credit crunch, banks are so far refusing to loan Hicks and Gillett the necessary funds to begin work on the new stadium project and the Americans are now investigating other options.
One of theses options is rumoured to include an outside partner, and Miskelly has the funds to help press forward plans for the future.
On the pitch, that future does not look like it will include Mali midfielder Momo Sissoko, who is close to a £10m move to Juventus.
The Serie A side made an unsuccessful approach last summer, but with Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez desperate for funds to sign Javier Mascherano on a long-term contract, Sissoko will be allowed to leave in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old said: "It isn't done yet but my agent is in advanced discussions with the club. I hope they will reach an agreement and I'm very happy a club like that wants me to come.
"I want a new challenge. The last few months at Liverpool have not gone as I would have wished."

Fredo, who are you trying to kid? The tone of your posts re the owners are not consistent with those coming come from someone who is genuinely giving them the benefit of the doubt.
You've made your mind up about the Yanks and that's fine, just stop trying to tell us that you haven't.
Thanks.

That's about right. Some people made up their mind about the owners weeks/months ago.
Wait and see is definitely the best approach.

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

That's nearly always true and I'd certainly agree in this case but are you suggesting we're wrong to have views on what's been achieved or not so far? Obviously all things are open to be reviewed - if tomorrow we submit a super-duper new stadium and sign David Villa then I'd feel warmer to them. However, so far we've seen big words with little to back them up (given our net spend in the transfer window and some backtracking on the stadium design) not to mention Rafa's outburst last May which must have come out of somewhere.Originally posted by desertscouser View Post

If it comes to it (as it did last May) then I trust Rafa more than Gillett and Hicks because (a) he's been around here longer, (b) he's achieved a lot more here than they have and (c) he's not a venture capitalist who has no knowledge of football looking for a profit.
That's not to say I'm not prepared to change my mind about Hicks and Gillett but I've not been overly impressed so far.
As you say, time will tell..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Now is the key time for the yanks, backing Rafa to get the extra couple of quality players we need to launch a title bid, and delivering the new stadium. Time for the them to put up or shut up. If truth be told I've already formed my judgment about them from what I've seen already - I'm pretty sceptical about whether they can deliver what they've promised. But now the onus is on them to prove they can.White liquid in a bottle = Milk
