Don't get me wrong, I hope G&H do sell up but everyone's clammering for DIC as they can't be any worse than G&H. My point is that I don't expect them to be a whole lot better. They are G&H in another guise, here to make money..nothing more nothing less. The days of LFC existing as a club to win trophies went when Moores sold up. We exist to make money.AKA Heighway No9

Doubt you will find many disagreeing with you on that front, DJOriginally posted by DJS View PostWell that was strongly denied. Nobody really knows, but even if true, i still think DIC would be the lesser of (potentially) two evils.Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

But compared to the billions DIC already have, the money made in football ownership is peanuts. I'm not sure it'd necessarily be about profit making for them. They're into the prestige and fame IMO.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostDon't get me wrong, I hope G&H do sell up but everyone's clammering for DIC as they can't be any worse than G&H. The best way to make money is to build a big stadium and make us successful. Importantly they would have no trouble getting a low interest loan to fund the stadium and also fund transfers during construction to keep us competitive.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostDon't get me wrong, I hope G&H do sell up but everyone's clammering for DIC as they can't be any worse than G&H. Making money isn't potentially a bad thing. One thing that many fans felt with Moores was that the club wasn't run efficiently enough as a business. A better business should, in theory, mean more money coming in to the club that would help us compete in the transfer market and as such be better prepared to win trophies.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostDon't get me wrong, I hope G&H do sell up but everyone's clammering for DIC as they can't be any worse than G&H. It's the way the owners plan to do it that's worrying. If we missed out on CL footy for one season we could potentially end up like Leeds with the amount of debt they plan to saddle the club with.Last edited by kurtangle01; 17-01-08, 01:12 AM.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

Yep. They've over stayed their welcome here.Originally posted by Gazzla View PostNot sure but hopefully they are bloody good. For the love of god I wish they would both **** off
If they do conclude the deal and push through their plans then they better not show their faces at Anfield any time soon.
I'd imagine that there'll be quite a few people there waiting to see them.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

Basically DIC is the investment arm for Sheik Mohammed. Whilst the man is an undoubted winner (anyone who follows horse racing will know all about him) I still believe they will essentially want LFC to make money.Originally posted by DJS View PostBut compared to the billions DIC already have, the money made in football ownership is peanuts. If money was no object and it was all about glory why didn't they simply offer another £30 or £40m and blow G&H out of the water. Lets face it, it would hardly break the bank for them.
I remember when it looked like DIC would buy LFC, listening to Brough Scott, a well known and respected racing journalist. He has very close links to Sheik mohammed and set up the Racing Post paper with him. He said that whilst DIC would want LFC to be no.1, it would be have to be financially viable. There's no way he thought the Sheik would simply throw money at the problem.AKA Heighway No9

Oh yes, wonder if they'll have the nerve to show their faces at the next glamour tie? I hope these abhorrent lying weasels are out of our club by then.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostYep. They've over stayed their welcome here.

No doubt that's the intention, what we don't know is to what level they would fund the manager 20M, 50M or 100M?
Personally I would Rafa to keep the job, buy him 2 wingers, playmaker/striker and a LB. Then a return to normal expenditures eg 20M net/year roughly.Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Even better. for the benefit of the long term future of the club you would want it to be run on sound business principles, and not running at the huge levels of debt and running costs that Chelsea for example operate at.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostBasically DIC is the investment arm for Sheik Mohammed.
