I sort of guessed that, but surly £60m will only be enough for ground works and preperation. That should be done in 6-8 monthes. How can they then go back to RBS and ask for another £50-£100m before even this current loan expires?
See what i'm getting at?-----------------------------------------------

Because it will be secured against the increased revenue, naming rights etc. that are additional as a result of the new stadium. The current loan is based on current turnover.Originally posted by kop-al-74 View PostI sort of guessed that, but surly £60m will only be enough for ground works and preperation. That should be done in 6-8 monthes. How can they then go back to RBS and ask for another £50-£100m before even this current loan expires?

It's only like having a loan for a car at the same time as your mortgage. So long as the bank can see that you are comfortably able to make the repayments they will lend you the money.

I'll still support my club, but I'll be doing it without giving the cowboys a penny. I'll be damned if I'll make financial contributions to the compensation they'll have to pay when they sack Rafa, and I'll be damned if I contribute towards paying off the debt they've gotten into by buying the club. They're not coming in, using our club as a door mat and expect me to pay for it and subsidise their American frnachises in the process. It's a matter of principle now, and a matter of the greater good.
I advise everyone on here to wake up and realise just what sneaky, slimy, greasy snakes these two are. Don't be taken in by the upcoming PR blitz and the big promises. These ****ers are wolves looking to fleece fans.
I will not pay to watch footy while these clowns are in charge and I won't spend a penny on merchandise either, like you say it's a matter of principle and the ****er says he might take any extra income anyway and put it elsewhere :whatever:
goes looking for good streaming sites* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I've said it a few times, but people are missing the point when it comes to the debt. No-one was ever going to pay cash for a new stadium, it was always going to be built on the Emirates model, with loans against future ticket sales, and naming rights. If anyone thought otherwise then they were the "gullible sheep" that people have been insultingly called in this thread for (ironically) having a different view to the majority.
The issue with the debt was that they promised that the purchasing debt would not be put onto the club, and now it looks like they are going to put at least some of it onto the club. The point is that they lied (about how the debt was going to be organised), not the fact that the debt exists. There was always going to be debt unless we found another abramovich to buy the club, (and DIC are not abarmovic).
The biggest issue with them is not the debt, but a) their treatment of Rafa b) the fact that we haven't had any more money for transfers than under Moores c) the fact that they approached an inexperienced manager to try and get rid of Rafa, d) lied about doing it, and e) have still not shown their unequivocal backing for the best manager we have had in 16 years.Last edited by calvoboy; 25-01-08, 09:44 AM.

Basically, they need to shut it and let Rafa get on with his job and show the money when it's needed to buy players.

There won't be any money to buy players, at least not on the level that most people would expect. This loan they have taken out just now is partly to cover the cost of the players we bought back last Summer.Originally posted by fredo View Post

We may sign Mascherano but that will probably be off-set by the sale of Momo and perhaps one or two other players before the window closes.
When we had 45M of debt on the club Moores had to loan us money to buy Kuyt. Now we had 45M of debt on the club (with a further 60M that's balanced out by stadium work) so where is this fantasy money for transfers going to come from?

Not saying it'll come, but who knows how they'll explain it to us.Originally posted by bigfooty View PostThere won't be any money to buy players, at least not on the level that most people would expect. We did invest in many young players though, maybe that's the way Rafa's decided to do things ?

Just an announcement ?Originally posted by calvoboy View PostSSN reporting that Liverpool FC are preparing an announcement this morning on refinancing and the new stadium. No time given yet, but they said it would definitely be this morning.
Hicks must call a Press Conference at Anfield and put himself up for questions by journalists in order to explain this whole cock up.

Yep, the financing of the stadium in that was was never a big issue as it was always going to be done through some sort of loan / bond etc.Originally posted by calvoboy View PostI've said it a few times, but people are missing the point when it comes to the debt. The problem is that, in selling to the Americans, we've now lumbered the club with not only the debt that we had before (45M) but the liability of having to pay these absentee landlords a princely sum so they can cover the repayments on the loan they used to buy the club. And further it is questionable exactly how our "spree" last Summer was paid for, with people suggesting that it was funded purely from the Champions League euros or Sky Sports pounds rather than any actual American dollars.
