I am of the opposite view. IMO all the "we will not sell" propaganda is just part of the negotiation process. Hicks wants out but he wants to make as much as he can off DIC. Gillett might want to be part of the future but in the end he will walk too.

While DIC sources say it is 'too close to call' whether their current bid will be accepted, the group believes the Americans will sell eventually and DIC will continue to pursue their interest in the club even if the refinancing package is approved. Observer

This is surely the most significant part of the story. If Bill and Ben manage to get the re-financing (and there is no reason to suspect they won't) will it de-value the club because there's debt against it, or will it increase the value because it is more financially secure? Lets just hope that DIC are in it for the long haul as the Observer are suggesting.
