by comparison, a good year in the US is 3%

Ok, I never thought to mention this before but after reading the following quote:

"DIC officials were today meeting senior executives from RBS in London, talks which are likely to be the precursor to a formal bid of around £350m for Liverpool."

Last week when going to lunch there were several suits flanked by quite a lot of security walking through to RBS and all were wearing Liverpool scarfs (about 2 or 3) and my mate noticed this and pointed it out to me as it looked very odd and out of place. It did seem a little odd as we were not playing that day and I don't very often see Liverpool scarfs around even when we are playing. They were not sheiks but just looked like any other suit with the exception of the scarfs. I work oposite the headquarters of RBS in the city. Probably nothing but there you go.

I agree in part they do think we will forgive and forget however that once again goes to show how far away they are from understanding LFC and their fans

Oh I agree however another thing Americans are famous for is greed. At the end of the day Hicks is a ruthless business man and clearly from the statements coming out from his camp isn't going to sell up know matter how much we want him to.

Personally I think its a lot of brinkmanship from Mr Hicks

Hes hardly likely to come out and say "yes I'm sick to death of this club and want to sell asap" before hes even received a formal bid

If he did say that it would weaken his hand considerably

Theres tons of games being played out in the media, its hard to tell what will happen with any certainty

IF DIC make a formal bid then I think you will be able to make informed opinion of what will happen, until then its like playing poker, trying to find what someones "tell" is

The main offices for RBS for the high ranking officials are in Edinburgh.

I was absolutely certain their corporate head office is in London and it certainly is for this kind of investment banking anyway. This page seems to confirm it:

The DIC stuff is a pipe dream. The indian guy from the Beeb, who has been spot on with everything so far, said they haven't made any approach or bid and Hicks is telling the truth.

Bose is the guy who derailed DIC last time and he is good mates with Gillett.
