this is the way he explained it............. once the club is bought and is debt free the transfer kitty comes out of the operating profits ( about 80 million per annum at the current Anfield)

The new stadium will be financed along the same lines as the Arsenal model

Any extra funds needed come from interest free loans from the elected directors

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

They could do it but they'd still have one share and one vote.

they had over 10,000 hits in 48 hours ( the servers crashed within minutes of going online)

of those expressing an opinion only 28 were negative

              10,000?

thats very low in my opinion. Expected a LOT more than that to have broken their server.

Where did the figure of 10,000 come from? ShareLiverpool? Also I imagine about half of those while positive might be saying they like the idea but can't afford £5k, so if that figure is accurate it's not looking too likely
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Maybe I'm too old and cynical but what I worry about is who would be the directors and would they be any better - probably better than Hicks but any better than DIC?
Would it be like politics and those that want to represent "the masses" are generally only interested in themselves and their own image?
I suppose the analogy I have in mind is Animal Farm.

whatever, its still a very low number. Surely more that 10,000 people visited the website in 2 days. If thats a true figure, the whole idea is a non starter

                    IMO! of course

I am not absolutely sure about the figures I wasnt paying that much attention as I didnt expect to be cross examined lol............... he did say that the servers crashed within minutes and only went back online friday PM the figures he had were up to Sunday afternoon.............. he did give a detailed breakdown of, yes/no/cant afford it..................if you want exact figures go to the radio merseyside website and click on "listen again" and look for "The football football show"................... Rogan is on 1 hour in and is interviewed for an hour...........he gives the figures near the end

                          12 000 said they want a share.
                          50 000 visited the site.

                          So 12 000 x £5000= 60 000 000
                          Let`s just say that 25 000 puts in £1000= 25 000 000

                          Total: 85 000 000

That`s not even 1/5 of what needed.
of course a lot more would join if it really started, but still.

It's all about momentum and critical mass at this point. A lot of people will be waiting to see if the whole thing is realistic before considering getting involved themselves. Releasing those figures serves to legitimise the whole venture because they have secured 10% of the pledges they need. It may not sounds like much compared to the overall target, but it will drive more interest, then as they release more details (some kind of fans loan faciltity by all accounts) more people will come on board.

I think this is a positive start, but it's all about what they do and say next.

It is a decent start. If there is some sort of loan set up, maybe guaranteed by some rich folks, that would be good.

I think the numbers are disappointing. Despite the massive interest, they didn't even have visits from more than half of the targeted number of investors. Also I think that of the 12.000 some will probalby struggle to cough up the money when the dust settles.
