they talk for about 5 minutes in which they mention our new english signing apparently one of bentley or barry (both of which balague 'liked').

the DIC bit was interesting and sounds fairly conclusive to me.

Like I said in the other thread,Rafa said the new signing is not English but just speaks good english so I'm a bit confused about this Barry business.

i think the non-english guy they are refering to is philipp degen of dortmund.
I have to say that I was very surprised by balague waxing lyrical about barry. he's never stood out as a world class player but maybe rafa's talked balague around.

Barry and SG did link up well when playing for England.

BTW Thought Rafinha was nailed on for RB. You heard differently?

Rafinha's not coming. Looking more and more likely that Degen is.
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

Bummer, Rafinha sounded like he was the best available. Surely he is considered a better player than Degen? BTW Know why Rafinha deal is a no go?

Sorry, don't have time to listen to the whole thing right now - what bit about DIC was conclusive?

                          From the dic thread

Implies that we have signed Barry not for sure, but were leaning towards him vs. Bentley. Signing Barry to cover for Xabi being sold to raise money.

DIC will buy out Gillett as soon as veto period expires and will then put in extra capital to dilute Hics shareholding.

Rafa working with Hicks because no-one else is replying to his emails etc.

All very speculative almost nothing stated as a fact.

If we have to sell Xabi to raise money, why buy Barry for roughly the same amount? Doesnt make sense, but- we dont make money, but end up with a worse player.

****ing disgrace if we sell Xabi for financial reasons.
                            3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I'm assuming that Xabi wants to go anyway and TBH he's not been the same player. After the Fulham game, I'd have Lucas ahead of him.
