Rafa's alleged contract offer to Crouch....

...according to Crouch it was "an informal five minute chat". Apparently he's only started 9 out of 38 league games too.

I was a big critic when we signed Crouch and I'll eat my own words and say he's been worth the £7m we spent on him. He gives us an option that when used properly is a real asset.

Someone made this comment on another site...I think the way Crouch and Riise have been treated is quite disgraceful. Granted Riise messed up but he's been here for 7 years. Crouch has been a good servant too.

Personally I'd love him to stay and get a few more games too.

Just don't like the things going on at the club at the moment

I agree mate, the way they've both been treated is pretty shocking. I can't belive Riise didn't even get a game on Sunday in what is possibly his last chance to play at Anfield.

Terrible and defnitley NOT the Liverpool way.

      Rafa is ruthless.

On the one hand you could say he is treating some players poorly on the other hand he is trying to make Liverpool the best it can be and he hasn't got time to be a lovey dovey coach.

I'd love Crouch to stay but for the good of his career he should move on.

Rafa certainly is not the best when it comes to people skills!! That much is pretty obvious.

However, I think when he repeatedly, and publicly, states that he wants the player to stay it is somewhat out of order IMO for Crouch to come out and say that.

Crouch neither has the pace strength or the lethalness to play the Torres role, he doesn't have the guile for the Gerrard role, therefore i would argue there are better alternatives out there.

However if you gave me a choice between him and Voronin then there's no argument, keep Crouch.

I'd like to see Crouchie stay, he's been a cracking player for us, even after his slow start

Crouch is handy in Europe though - would like him to stay but obviously he ain't prepared to sit on the bench.

There is no sentiment in football. Rafa has come out repeatedly and said he wanted Crouch to stay, the ball is in his court. If it wasn't for Rafa, Crouch would never have been anywhere near the England team, the man saved his career. Yep, Crouch has been underused this season, but I'm not going to fault Rafa for being Ruthless. He wants the best for the club and continues to work as hard as he can to make us better.

Meh, if Rafa had played Riise on Sunday then he would have got stick for not playing Insua. He can't win. Agree I would like Crouch to stay, but can't see him playing any more if he did - he doesn't really fit in to our favoured formation. And to be honest, if we have offered him a new contract and he isn't accepting it, then shouldn't Rafa concentrate on playing players who are staying - even if it is Voronin

How the **** are they being treated disgracefully. Riise just played in both legs of a CL semifinal. Lets see how CL semi's he gets to play at his new club.

Crouch doesn't fit into our current formation but he has had a contract in front of him for 6 months. Rafa made Crouch the player he is today, FACT. Problem is he is only good enough as a squad player and a handy option off the bench for Liverpool. Either he accepts that or takes the cash and probable 1st team slot at another club. It's his choice.

I am more disappointed in that these 2 and Pennant didn't come out and thank the supporters.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Riise wasn't even at Anfield.

What's the point in Rafa coming out and saying "I want Crouch to stay", but half the time he doesn't even put him on the bench...and puts Voronin there instead. They are hollow words and actions speak louder than words IMO.

There is a bit of hypocrisy from Rafa as his actions indicate he doesn't want to keep Crouch , but his words say he does.

Granted he can get more money for Crouch than Voronin (we'd probably have to give someone £2m to buy Voronin off us) and that's Rafa's choice. But don't openly contradict yourself, which is what he is doing
