I was a big critic when we signed Crouch and I'll eat my own words and say he's been worth the £7m we spent on him. He gives us an option that when used properly is a real asset.

Someone made this comment on another site...I think the way Crouch and Riise have been treated is quite disgraceful. Granted Riise messed up but he's been here for 7 years. Crouch has been a good servant too.

Personally I'd love him to stay and get a few more games too.

Just don't like the things going on at the club at the moment
Where is the Crouch quote from?

Surely the status of how reasonable or not these things are depend on the content of the chat and on going dialog say everyday on the training ground. If Rafa made an offer and Crouch was unreceptive then surely he has every right to consider moving on?

Manners in football? That's a slight contradiction. If Riise had any manners he wouldn't have gone and mouthed of to the press last week straight after we had been beaten by Chelsea - a match which he largely contributed to us losing. If he had any manners, he would have turned up to the after match end of season parade. He wan't picked so he, decided he would be selfish and not turn up to the parade and not thank the fans - the fans who have paid his wages and sang his name over the last 7 years. So do you ever remember Sami Hyypia or Did Hamann ever have go at the club/Rafa when there contracts were about to end? My opionion of Riise has gone done heavily in the last 2 weeks - I was always a fan of his.

Maybe Riise should go complain to the HR managed at Liverpool due to the lack manners shown to him. Football is different to the normal world of work mate. If he'd have put more effort in and kept his gob shut, maybe he would have been offered a new contract. The perfect example is Sami Hyypia - he has improved from last year and arguably been our best defender this season and he's 34! What excuse does Riise have - he's 27 and looks like a player his playing his final few years and his abilities have dipped massively.

your missing the point i think
riise is entitled to be told if rafa wants him gone - as i say so would you or i if our bosses decided to get rid
riise hears that rafa has offered him to villa for barry - yet doesnt tell him
        should he be happy ?
**** me mate i dont even want riise to stay or rate the fella but surely he deserves to be told we want him out ?

lets face it we will never win the league under rafa and he is a bit fortunate that there is no one about or available to replace him

who is that down to ?
We haven't gone backwards. We already have 5 more points than last year. Our reserves team is young.....and champions. We have had a lot of injuries to our defense and 2 owners that lack a clue about running a football club.

Rafa deserves credit, IMO for turning around a potential disaster.

Why are you all so sure that Rafa does not want Crouch to stay? He's clearly stated he does and common sense would say that there is no better plan B than Crouch.

              have we gone backwards?

have we had the behind the scenes kerfuffle last season, or the season before that, or the one before that?

has the points gap decreased to the winners of the league this season, than last?

didn't we just lose out in extra time in the semi final of the Champs league?

haven't we now got the best striker in the league, and most probably europe?

haven't we got one of the best midfielders in the world signed up?

even Gerrards smiles now, when he looks lovingly into El Nino's eyes................

i wouldn't say we've gone backwards at all.

And we've scored more goals than anyone else and have the most clean sheets.

That part I would say is harsh, to learn from the press that you've been offered as bait. But Riise has made 2 outbursts now, and both of them happened before he was offered as bait.

Oh, and we've only lost 4 games, admittedly too many draws, but we've only lost 4 games.

I have to go out now, thankfully I have better things to do than argue with someone who cant work out simple mathematics.

How far behind last year were we = 21 points

                          We are closer.

Why do we have a right to better than 4th when others are outspending us left right and center? When we couldn't afford Alves, Simao, Vidic. Let's face it it's way to easy to lay everything on Rafa.
