It was in Guillem Ballagues book I think (or one of the ones that came out about RB & Istanbul) but as I recall he was loitering outside the dressing room & was actually invited in by RB....What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

He was rightly proud that most of his old team had won the CL. Good on him for joining in the celebrations, but he should not come out with this crap about lack of funds because if Rafa was backed the same way we would have No.19 in the bag by now.Originally posted by Yozza View PostIt was in Guillem Ballagues book I think (or one of the ones that came out about RB & Istanbul) but as I recall he was loitering outside the dressing room & was actually invited in by RB...."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." The 'Gems' werent bad players - some of the top clubs in europe were after them...
I remember the Mancs being gutted that they chose us ahead of them
Shame we couldnt bring them on properly
Was Pongo any worse than Voronin? What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

I agree they weren't developed as well as they should have been, I still thought Pongolle could have been decent for us, LeTallec was a bit of a waster thoughOriginally posted by Yozza View PostThe 'Gems' werent bad players - some of the top clubs in europe were after them...

Was Pongo any worse than Voronin? The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Aye, Pongo was a nice little player-cant see how voronin or pennant are an improvement at all & he could play in both postions.
As for GH, well was happy for him to celebrate with the lads, but he should keep quiet after the money he spunked. Wonder if THicks sponsored him to say that.
3rd place. Worst champions ever.

hear hear again, what's happened to you
I became sewiously disillusioned with LFC having to put up with that dour ****e style of play every week. I mean I wouldn't mind if we hadn't got the quality but we had, it was just as if he wouldn't let them go out and play. unbelievable.

1. torres isn't french
2. torres isn't french-african
had ged signed torres, he'd probably be playing left back for us...with Biscan in the centre. Also, Ged would be going on about how he "discovered" torres..... blah blah blah....
the one thing I read about Ged that really made me cringe was after Istanbul, he went into the dressing room to celebrate with the team. It was like he was the manager apparently.... really embarrassing for the guy from what I've heard....
i am not totally bashing him, but you have to admit, Ged really lost the plot towards the end of his tenure here... had he left after he had the banger, then he would be a legend.....
I think it says a lot about his reign that our best points per game ratio under him was when he was in hospital and Thommo was in charge. Come to think of it, Thommo has the best points per game ratio since Dalglish - including Benitez..
Houllier took us from being marginal title challengers to also rans challenging for fourth place, and we never recovered. Such was the value destruction he was responsible for, you could almost say that it forced Moores hand into selling the club.Really?
