    Reds Sign French Striker Ngog

    REDS SIGN FRENCH STRIKER NGOG

    Jimmy Rice 24 July 2008

Liverpool have today signed French hotshot David Ngog from Paris Saint Germain.

The 19-year-old becomes the fourth addition to Rafa Benitez's first-team squad after penning a four-year deal at Anfield

Ngog is one of the brightest young talents in French football.

His tally of just one goal from 18 league appearances last term was largely down to PSG's disappointing form – a contention backed up by his prolificacy on the international stage.

The lightning quick forward has scored goals at every youth level for France, including two absolute corkers against England Under-19s last season.

Ngog is the cousin of former Newcastle United defender Jean-Alain Boumsong.

    Just beat me to it

Any idea how much we spent for him?

Rafa has brought in some good youngsters in the past and i hope this guy is another bright prospect.

So done deal then - i'd presume this means voronin is defo going ray:

I'd really like to see this lad either go into the first team squad and get some games, or at least promote Nemeth and this lad covers him

providing we signed Keane i'd be quiet happy if we had

      Torres
      Keane
      Ngog/Nemeth
      and the Kuyt/Babel as cover
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

        Liverpool Echo says £1.5m.

19-year-old French striker David Ngog has now passed his medical and was expected to complete his £1.5m move from Paris St Germain today. Ngog is set to feature in the Reds first team squad next season.

Buying young prospects for that kind of money suggests we aren't at all mate.

                          Welcome to Anfield Mr. Ngog.

Let's hope that your goal return last season is a misnomer and let's also hope that you fare better than your illustrious cousin did in English football.
